Ok lets discuss racism.... Why does EVERYONE hate on someone saying something negative about a certain race and claim they HATE racist people, but consider it OK for people to be racist by saying positive things about a race? For example saying "Mexicans will work for less money then u will and is a hard worker and wont complain cause he came from nothing" is ok because the person is saying they are hard workers...? Many people wouldn't over react over this, but that statement is basically saying "your race is inferior and doesn't work as hard as this race". Most people would call it the opposite of racism, but I consider just as vile and offensive as if someone said something bad about the race... Discuss... |

Yeah, Metallix is right about the racism crap. Sometimes I make jokes about mexicans but not like really mean ones and i'm not seriously angered by them or anything. so what their from somewhere else and have a different skin color? doesn't mean they couldn't be your best friend,wife or whatever. I don't get WHY people are so mad because of a persons race, just doesn't make sense to me... |

The native speakers in my Spanish class complain about that all the time.  But on a more serious note, racism is just plain wrong. Yes, the USA does have something against Mexico because of the illegal immigrants. And the other things mentioned already are too true. Racism, as JBH said, is silly. There's no need for it. And to think they used to call America "The Melting Pot." It is sort of that way, but the rampant racism now hurts that so-called melting pot. |

I also love it how these Mexicans that were born in California protest against America enforcing our LAWS and doing something about the illegal immigration. I mean if tons of Americans decided to just move illegally into Mexico you can be sure the Mexican government would deport our asses just like they do to the Central Americans. They protest us deporting people who break the law, but they don't protest their own country deporting, or even worse killing, their illegal immigrants... |

For some odd reason i was side kicked because my dad was from Norway when i lived on the island. I was realy getting mobbed for that reason, like racism trouble even if i was looking like they where. But another friend of mine, where called black or negro. And that is just mean. I hate rasism as there is no good with it, and you cant gain anything from it eather just some sad people.

I can underdstand why the US Goverment decided to build a wall between our borders. It's made to stop illegal immigration. Metallix is completely correct on the statement he made. This one right below:
I can understand that. But what really pisses me off is the fact that people make fun of it. On the news, once, there was a website that had some flash game called "Texas Border Watch". The point of the game was to shoot down as many Mexicans before they reach on side of the screen to the other. it was stupid that there were so many Mexicans leaving from one side of the screen to the other riding on Donkeys, and playing guitars right in front of the shooters, saying things like "Vamanos", and, "WE WANT TO BE FREE!" and the most retarded "WANNA TACO?!?!?!" Ever since that game came out, people have been trashing on Mexicans. Mexicans are not the only ones who are victim's. I've seen games where they made fun of African-Americans where segregation took place in the US, I've seen where you were Muslim and had to bomb the World Trade Center, and I've even seen a game where you were a Chinese female who had to go and talk to people in your own crazy accent. For every person you visit, they would just mimic that person's language, make fun of em/, and slam the door in your face. Messed up things this world has. |

Raah! laura wants to say something. I agree with JBH, Racisim is silly. But, you can't ignore it since it's like.... impossible to ignore. Dealing with it isn't fun. Let's take all this immigration thing for instance. 10 percent of Mexico's population is in the United States, most doing jobs no one wants to do. Sure, a lot of them don't pay taxes on their homes, but they do when they cash their checks and buy stuff. If they weren't doing what they were doing um... The economy wouldn't be to hot. I really see nothing wrong with letting anyone in the border because I just don't. But whenever I see someone talking down on someone else for their skin color everyone totally backs up that person being insulted. Now it gets awkward when you see a white kid saying like... Beaner or something but you shouldn't let that get to you. Like when someone in Hollywood says Nigger or something it's like OMGWTFRUX?!! Then that person has to resign and stuff and get apologies from Jesse Jackson. That's not right. It's really.... immature in a way. |

It actually isn't so big in my school. Only because people joke around so much here. When they are being racist, most of the time they're joking at my school. I never thought it was so huge. |

The whole Melting Pot concept was entirely racist, though. It basically said, "If you move here, you must forget your culture and forget your traditions. Instead of Hannukah, you will celebrate Christmas. Instead of leaving out food for the dead, you will let your kids dress up and run around the neighborhood fpr candy." |
