Nintendo of America’s VP Perrin Kaplan has confirmed that Wii might be getting hardware revision soon. A DVD playback support has already been announced for late this year, however Kaplan indicates there will be more than just DVD playback on the new revised Wii. Many speculate that Nintendo will release new Wii with new colors, increases its internal storage, bundling rechargeable battery, and component cables.

It is just upgrading and upgrading. But when they start on consoles, well then they should try to make it already before the release. But i don`t like upgrading eather. So yes i agree.

Not sure if I should wait or not. I'll probably have to wait some time before I get one unless my dad becomes cool and buys me a Wii. Like that'll ever happen.

You can buy component cables, you can buy a cheap DVD player, there's USB ports and SD Card slots for memory, and I'm sure you can buy rechargeable batteries when they're out. And you're not wasting money either, the price will go up accordingly with the new model.

The colors don't really matter and as for the hardware, I doubt that they would make a change and rip off the launch buyers.

It's too early to be making it better, it isn't a computer. It's not just Nintendo that does that. The iPod for example. Which is why I wouldn't want one. I'd buy one and a few months later they'd announce a better version. lol The article states that a DVD player is already confirmed and that he said there would be more than just a DVD upgrade. He didn't say what else it's going to get, but I'll wait and see. Besides some people don't have PS2s to watch DVDs or maybe they want a DVD player in another room and they only have one or two? I would try to return my Wii if I had bought one w/out these features just because I don't know everything that will be new and in my situation another DVD player wouldn't be bad.

I do, that's why I always wait to buy one of their products. lol I made the mistake of buying the original GBA instead of waiting for the SP which was announced only a short while after I bought it. Hahaha I'm only going by what the article said. Which was a DVD and colors were confirmed and that was not the only thing to come. I don't care about the rumors.
