Chapter 13: Two Sources

Many years ago, after the Diamond Town Purge

A cold wind whipped through a lonely town. It was empty, silent, yet everything seemed to be functioning on its own. All that was missing was the people living in it. The town was neighboring a large castle, three towers in the front, the middle being the largest. The rest of the structure connected to this castle seemed like a wall of mazes. Shades of purple and blue coated this town, giving it an odd look. All other colors were absent within this deserted town. Light footsteps broke the silence and echoed. For once, Virus was walking on the ground, strolling through this empty town. Her face was confused, annoyed, and calculating. She was trying to figure out how this happened, or at least, what was the origin point of this abandonment.

"I guess he wasn't kidding." She comments to herself as she crossed her arms and quickened her steps towards the castle.

"He really did encase this pathetic empire in ice... Sorta." She adds, then jumps into the air and vanished. She reappeared above the town, standing on some form of magical casing that covered nearly the entire land.

"Huh... Didn't think it would stretch that far too." She looked to the horizon to see where exactly the encasement ends.

"Isn't your boy-toy going to get mad once he finds out?" A haunting and slightly echoing voice spoke from behind her. She quickly spun around and laid her eyes on the all white being, Enemy himself. He pulled back the hood from his robe to display his yellow haunting eyes as his evil smile spread across his face. She huffs at him, rolling her eyes as she turned back around and shrugged.

"He wouldn't care. He trusts me."

"Now he does. What about when he finds out you're secret?" Her eyes narrowed with hate, yet she kept her back towards him so she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her reaction.

"It wouldn't matter either way." She simply comments, really wanting to curse him out.

"Right... You got a job to do." He adds, changing the subject as he spotted another female walking out of the castle door entrance. It was Otogi, displaying a very confused and frightened look. Virus sighs with annoyance as she eyed her as well.

"I'm getting tired of you and Lord Fate bossing me around."

"Don't worry about Fate, he'll die soon enough." This sparked some interest within her, causing her to perk up and look over her shoulder a moment as Enemy smiled deeply.

"His expiration date is coming up soon." He paused for a moment, allowing her to turn her body towards him as this information was enriching.

"You do know that Lord Fate is actually my clone, right?" Her eyes widened for a second before she hid behind her facade, acting as if this wasn't news to her. Enemy knew it was however, and he was going to use this information to his advantage.

"Its funny, Ludi dumped more of his sister into you than you think. Stupid part is, his sister is still alive..." She kept her face calm and collective, though he was screaming on the inside for more information. She started to panic inside when he fell silent and looked away from her.

"There's the other one." He adds, changing the subject again as he eyed Pianta walking out of a house, with great caution it would seem. She was smaller than Otogi, and she appeared to look younger as well.

"Tactic's plan would of worked, ya know." She starts off with a slight sigh. She gently shook her head as she continued.

"You guys screwed it up." She paused again as she thought about her next sentence.

"I already know why, but I'd like to confirm my thoughts... Why'd you stop them?" Enemy could only smile his wicked smile even more as he slowly put his hood back on.

"The kingdom must rise, as it always did-"

"There is no kingdom, White Death... And yes, I know your legendary name-"

"It changed..." He cut her off, just as quickly as she interrupted him. Silence fell again as he switched his sights on Otogi.

"Regardless what the hell you call yourself nowadays, this 'Fated Kingdom' does not exist. I have knowledge dating back to the foundation of the first Empire. All I have that remotely fits this insane idea, is that a man by the name of Larangon gathered an army and tried to over throw the Empire, marking the start of the first 'Fated Kingdom,' as they called themselves, to rise and over throw the current king."

"His name is Li-Ve Da-Gon, most called him Live. He is also the Fated Dragon known as the Dragon Knight. And the reason why you can't pull this out of your memory bank, is because your boy-toy screwed up your brain by trying to save you from becoming who we wanted you to become. In short, your head is corrupted by your old-programming-self. Which is why you're not as clever as you use to be." Virus kept her calm as she was fed this information, partly feeling like she was being insulted. Her artificial heart broke the more she thought about what she lost in order to keep what she treasured more.

"Keep talking..." She finally spoke, coming to the conclusion that she could only ask for more information as a reply to his speech. He slightly raised his head to see her, his hood covering one of his eyes, making his appearance all the more haunting.

"Two sources are needed to awaken this kingdom. A princess from old, and a princess from new." By now, Otogi and Pianta were getting closer to each other the more they explored the encased town.

"Teh, times up." Enemy states, then slowly turns away from her and starts walking. The barrier pulsated with each step he took, as if defending itself from his steps, or perhaps from his very presence.

"Right, leave me hanging here. I'll figure everything out myself." She huffed as she rolled her eyes and waited for the two girls to get closer to each other.

"He called you Virus for a reason... That's what the Kingdom is, a virus..."

Present Time on Hex's Ship

After Virus's comment she motioned to move towards the door. Instead of doing so, she set her eyes upon Enemy as her entire expression began to change. Information began to flood her mind the more she stared. She scanned the room next, as if looking for someone. When she realized Otogi wasn't there she quickly glared upon Enemy again.

"Ankishi..." She spoke, her words slithering out as if the name itself left a nasty taste in her mouth.

"You're the Fated Kingdom Prince." She adds, her claws slowly extended as her anger began to rise.

"You're point...?" Enemy commented afterwards. By now, everyone fixed their attention on the all white being. Some of them were confused, while others knew exactly what was going on, Hex and Combo being two of them.

"Wait, isn't he a Dark-Heart?" Fenroar asked as he kept his eyes focused on Enemy. Hex shook his head no as he motioned to speak.

"Did you really think a kingdom could rise and wipe out the entire globe without leaving any of its people around to start the whole thing all over again?"

"That doesn't make sense." Blaire states as her mind was sent for a twist from this new information being presented.

"Don't you guys get it? This has been going on for eons. Years upon years are collected together to make one cycle, and then suddenly, bam! Everything is wiped out and rebooted. Its like a timeline that continues to repeat itself, only the timeline gets interrupted and a hard reset. The only reason things are different now is because Hex and his brother found a way to kill the never-ending-looped-path by creating new paths each time a cycle comes to it's end."

"Meaning, instead of history repeating itself the timeline changes when the Kingdom rises and takes over." Hex finishes Combo's speech as he kept his eyes on Enemy.

"I'm just wondering why Ankishi decided to change priorities. This cycle was suppose to end years ago." Hex asked, to which Enemy, now being called Ankishi, smirked his evil smile and paused before he answered.

"Your involvement sparked something. I took notice that you managed to change the course of things simply by throwing yourself into the fray. You weren't sitting back anymore and just allowing each cycle to end. You started to fight back, you started to care-"

"Its my damn job as a shinigami to stop phenomenons that disrupt both my world and the world of the living. I saw my previous plan wasn't working so I-"

"Teh! You were marked as a failure! Your 'world' doesn't want you back! You've been exiled, Mist! You're just trying to play God and control the fate of these mortals-"

"And what the hell do you think you're doing, hypocrite. You're the one playing God by altering their fate, rewriting it over and over to remain in control of this 'cycle' you forced upon-"

"Wrong again, shinigami. I'm just playing a game off of some mad-man's plot for revenge. I didn't start this damn mess, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to bend this line until it breaks. That, my friend, is what I do. I play with the powers given to me, and coordinate chaos where it needs to be presented-"

"You're a sick being who carries death upon his hand as if its something meaningless-"

"Ha! Death to me carries more value and volume than you think! Its why I do what I do, because death is always eager, but everyone else seems to reject it. Much like love, its abundant but the world has diluted it into simple feelings... One can feel death rising, feel its grip upon them, and the struggle to break free is a remarkable sight. Impending doom snares not only the mind but the soul. So yes, I'm here to watch this world burn, and what better treat I get when I can watch it happen over and over again..." By the time Enemy and Hex finished there argument, everyone was on their guard. Their sense of hope they had before seemed to slowly transform into panic and fear once more. It became clear to the group that No matter what they did, things would never fully be resolved.

"And everyone wondered why we wanted to kill everyone instead of going ahead with this stupid plan." Combo finally spoke up. His tone was a bit angered, more annoyed as he glared upon Enemy.

"Its clear that Enemy, or Ankishi, is not on anyone's side. He is apart of this Kingdom we're trying to stop. Having said this we don't need to give into his madness or this idea of slaughtering everyone to achieve peace. How can there be peace if no one will be around to witness it, let alone enjoy." Hex switched his view to Blaire, who finished speaking as she took two steps towards everyone to address her point.

"At this point, it doesn't matter how we tackle this. This Kingdom will find its way around again, and start the whole damn thing all over again." Rabid interjects, as if he was considering to side with Hex and his plan to wipe everyone out.

"You guys act like you can't join the Kingdom and its everlasting reign." Enemy stated, nearly shocking everyone with this comment as they all began to thik about what this actually meant.

"You mean, like a safe haven for those who give up?" Yami asked with a raised eyebrow. Enemy simply shrugs as he spoke.

"Sorta... Something along those lines-"

"Enough!" Virus suddenly shouts as she lunged towards Enemy. Her claws tore through the wooden wall as Enemy quickly dodged and slide a few feet away from her. Her eyes widen with rage as she laid her sights upon him again. She motioned to attack again but stopped as Yami placed himself between her and Enemy.

"What the hell are you doing, hood-boy!" She snared as she took a step towards him. Before she could take another step a light burst forth and covered the entire room in shades of silver and purple. It began to dim, which revealed the source of the light.

"Pianta!" Ludi shouts as he shielded his eyes with his arms, covering up his face as well which still masked his over all appearance.

"Time's up." Enemy comments with pure delight. His evil smile widened as a swirl of blue energy began to flow out of her, surrounding her as the wind speed began to pick up.

"What the heck is going on!" Araon asked, shouting mainly to Blaire as she was the closest one to him.

"The Dragon Knight awakens..."

Thousands of Years Ago, Before the First Cycle of the Fated Kingdom

A large castle can been seen in the distance. Its the same castle that is guarded on Organ-Island. However, the Island is not floating high within the sky. It is apart of the rest of sectors, or rather only one sector since the other haven't been built yet. Human like beings with all white skin color roamed around, traveling here and there. Most of them ventured back and forth from the castle. Eight foot guards were posted at the entrance and along the edges of the castle. It had a very mystical feel to it, and seem very vibrant, no where near the gloom and doom vibe it gives off in its present time. Mixed in with the natives of this land were humans, as well as other beings. There were very little of both humans and furries. Within one of the windows as a red-haired human male, wearing royal clothing and sporting a short green and black cape. An all white female being slowly and calmly walked to his side. Her expression was one of sadness, more so as if something deeply troubled her.

"Kanius, when will you put an end to this?" She asked him as she rested her head upon his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around her waist and sighs as he lightly shook her head.

"You're people do not trust humans. I'm honored, and very lucky, that I was accepted into your family when we decided to let everyone of our relationship. I feel as if I was allowed into your family because I am not fully human. Actually, I'm not even considered a human according to the humans. Me and my clan are-"

"Kanius... I don't care what you are, human, Wolf-Link, both, it doesn't matter. I do care about this silent war that is slowly spinning out of control. And from a whisper it will boom into a mighty and chaotic shout. I fear for my people. I know you weren't were when these humans first arrived, but they seem to be trying to overthrow not only this kingdom, but the entire world. I'm hearing stories from all over this globe. This is becoming bigger than the small civil wars we've had." She paused for a moment as she heard foot steps behind her. She spun around and saw two little children jogging towards them. One of them was Fate, Lilfate as he is known, smiling as Enemy followed behind him. He too sprouted a big smile, which oddly enough wasn't haunting or evil. It was innocent and full of joy.

"Fate, Ankishi! My two big boys!" The woman shouted with glee as she bent down and scooped them both up in her arms, both of them giggling as she held them tightly. She set them down as the male moved forward to greet them. The two of them stood tall and proper, as if they were trained in the military. Their father eyed them with a serious raised eyebrow, pacing back and forth.

"I see you two were playing Golden Ball again."

"Yes sir!" They both replied.

"We kicked butt, sir!" Enemy spoke out, trying to hold in his smile as his smirk slowly shown through.

"Did you now... And you gave those Grand Havens a good beating?"

"Yes sir! Kicked their tail and all, sir!" Fate comments, to which he smiled big as his dad smirked some.

"I see... And what reward did I promise you lads for winning?"

"Ice-cream Monster Fudge!" They both shouted as they dropped with saluted stance, filled with so much excitement they couldn't contain themselves. They leaped at their dad and nearly knocked them over as he caught them in his arms.

"Hahaha! Calm down now lads, we'll get you your treat."

"You should of been there, my lord." Another voice spoke to them as a male with green hair approached them. He had furry green ears as well, and purple colored eyes. His serious expression gave him a menacing vibe, however his posture represented one of royalty, as well as his garments. It was clear to see that he was one of the knights in this castle.

"Li-Ve! Great to see you, and thank you for taking them to their game."

"I didn't mean that you should of been there to see the game, my lord. I meant to say that a bit of trouble was stirred and your presence would of diluted the tension." Kanius could only dim his smile as he set his children down. He sighed a bit as he responded.

"I see... Which side started first?" He asked, to which Li-Ve paused for a moment as he looked at the queen next to Kanius.

"It was her people that provoked the others. I'm sorry to say, my queen, but your people are pushing for war. These other races will not take kindly to mockery and threats-"

"And what would you have my people do!? Should we just sit back and let foreigners come and push us around, trying to take over our kingdom, our home, and not want to stand our ground!? No, Li-Ve! My people have a right to fight back, to show the world that we are not weak, and that we will certainly not be overtaken by ANY force, species, or-" Suddenly several large explodes roar throughout the castle. Soon the booming sounds of panic reach the master chamber. More explosions go off, one setting itself right above them with a defeating ring that followed. The entire room shook as pillars and large parts of the wall came crumbling down. Smoke quickly filled the room thanks to the debris. Commanding shouts could be heard as heavy foot steps followed. The group slowly regained themselves, Li-Ve being the first one to get up. By the time he was on his feet he realized they were surrounded. Kanius and his wife soon acknowledge, to which the queen quickly panicked and searched for her sons. Li-Ve had bother of them tucked under his arms, as if protecting them, but more so ready to make a run for it if the chance presented itself.

"What is the meaning of this! Identify yourselves!" Kanius ordered. The armored knight-like men remained silent. Their black, red, and blue armor masked their bodies well, including their helmets, no matter the size of the being within the armor. One of them finally stepped forward and placed his hands on his helmet.

"By order of the new Emperor, I hereby grant you, Kanius the Red Wolf King, mercy and a opportunity to join the Empire." The man spoke, revealing himself as he took off his helmet.

"I am Fenroar Strauss, Lighting Knight of the Empire."

"Why do I have a feeling this extension of 'mercy' is only extended to my clan, and not my wife and her people." Kanius asked, to which Fenroar, nods his head.

"Forgive me for saying, Red Wolf King, but your words are very much true."

"The White Flag Purge, also called Bleached Blood Purge. This 'New Empire' is going to wipe out the entire Otius species, and anyone who supports them or has any involvement with them, including offspring or marriage."

"No!!" The queen shouts in pure horror as Li-Ve explained the situation. She quickly looked at her frightened children as tears began to stream down her cheek.

"You can't..." She softly speaks as she pleaded with Fenroar through her eyes. The human remained focused on Kanius, ignoring her as he waited for an answer.

"You have three seconds to comply." Fenroar adds, to which Kanius glared upon him as he tightened his fists.

"Go to hell." He replied, to which Fenroar only shook his head in disappointment. He slowly placed his helmet on and turned around.

"Last chance, Kanius." His voice changed thanks to his helmet, giving him a darker and evil vibe. The Red Wolf King replied by holding his wife's hand firmly, standing close by her side as he prepared himself for their death. Looking over his shoulder Fenroar could see Kanius had made his choice.

"Very well... Kill-"

"Wait!" Li-Ve nearly shouted. Everyone fixed heir attention on him as he eyed the human.

"Have a damn heart and let me leave with their children. They don't need to see this." Fenroar thought for a moment, the fixed his sights in front of him as he spoke.

"Leave the white skinned child. You can take the other one." The queen gasped as she covered her mouth. Li-Ve's eyes glowed bright purple for a few seconds, displaying his rage as his entire body tensed in order to keep himself from lunging at the human.

"Not happening." Li-Ve's voice deepened as he set the two children down. Fenroar became cautious as he turned his body halfway towards the green haired male. Something was off though. The two boys who were frighten and scared were now determined and ready to fight.

"If we die, you die." Ankishi spoke up, his voice echoing and haunting as his eyes began to glow yellow...
