Good vibes.
 The white light grew brighter and brighter. Electricity started crackling in the air as a unearthly whine grew louder and louder.

When it reached its peak, a female scream could be heard as a shockwave blasted from the portal. Shelves- and people- were knocked over.

The portal closed, leaving a burn on the ground and a black soot-covered thing on the ground.

This thing, if it was standing, would be up to waist level in height. It was equine in shape, and it seemed to have two wings splaying out. Its face was a bit unusual in shape, having larger forward-facing eyes and a small muzzle.
