As for finding people of similar interests, lol I'm doing the same thing. In fact I started a kind of mini comic-con at my college to try and bring together all the nerdy and geeky so that I may seek out suitable dating options. Like interests is also high on my list.

It's hard to have a fulfilling conversation sometimes with people that don't speak fluent geek.
