Classic/contemporary r&b (and all the subgenres and related genres therein): This is what I grew up listening to and eventually I came to appreciate the singing talent and musicality of the notable artists on my own, like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Boyz 2 Men, even oldbies like Earth, Wind, and Fire, The O' Jays, Bill Withers, Stephanie Miller, etc. Dubstep (classic UK and American, filthy, some chillstep): I simply like songs with heavy bass undertones, as well as electronic songs with crazy synth riffs that manage to still stay melodic, and that's basically what dubstep is. Orchestral (film and tv scores): The most emotive and adaptable music ever. It's the stuff of gods, and Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and John Powell have pretty much earned their tickets to Valhalla. |
