Lost Sabers
"Cover me," Taylor said, more out of habit than necessity. The lens on his rifle's scope glowed slightly as he took aim and started laying down a steady rhythm of shots across the village, shooting down automata as they dared to near for their sneak attacks.

Moloch was quite irked as Amber made her escape. "I should've taken that inevitability into account. No matter. I got something useful from this backfire, at least," he muttered. And as the hooded watcher arrived in the burning township, all he'd be able to do was watch as Moloch simply fell into his shadow, presumably using it as a gate back to whatever dark realm he came from. "All in all, not worth the cost..."

So yeah. Run into the Rippers on SotS2... and I haven't been developing weapons tech. I feel hosed.

Sword of the Stars. For some reason that sounds really familiar.
I wouldn't know how it would. I looked, and if you have it, you don't on Steam. <_<

Couple days ago I asked around about a certain game. One other member responded, and we had a brief (one post apiece) conversation concerning it. And then someone said that talking about a game was against Shack rules and it needed a separate topic.

My thinking anyways, since the other guy doesn't actually play the game, is that having a topic on Sword of the Stars is rather useless.

So, from earlier... I can't use the Shack to fish for someone, anyone who might play a game that's fairly obscure? I mean, aside from an RP, having a topic only two people post in is kinda... not right.

Anyways. Anyone here play Sword of the Stars or Sword of the Stars II?
Played the first one, haven't touched the second one, waiting for a demo for it.

Also, you guys hear of the Boston Marathon Explosions?
I'll warn ya, transitioning to II may be like pulling teeth. There's a lot different. Fleet missions, feasibility studies, reusable colonizers and constructors... Oh yeah, and teching is paced down. I don't think a demo's likely, though...

And yes, the blasts be all over the news, and will be for likely weeks to come.

Okay, that was a thing that had no business happening. And I'm not talking about whatever Vulpix was plotting. My wireless antenna went ENTIRELY on the fritz and just flat-out stopped working.

Someone was gonna catch my foul-up there... <_<

Well, I suggest, for simplicity's sake, that despite what dozen-plus names people will ascribe to most supernatural phenomena, that they'd all come from the same source, which we'll just tentatively call "magic." The precise mechanics, we'll probably hammer out later, but we need to agree on some fundamental, constant principles on which all worlds' "magic" will be built. You know, things like "magic comes from life" or "it takes just as much effort/strength to do something with magic as it does to do it normally."

Warning To Everyone On This Forum!
Thanks for the heads-up. However, this wouldn't be the first time, as far as I and other regulars at this forum are aware. (As far as I've seen, he's attempted before and been banned. Repeatedly.)
Still, advance warning means this next time we can shut him down nice and quick.

Star Cross Faithful Wish
Well, magic... Rules between worlds may be inconsistent, but if all the worlds are connected, there should be some common principles that should allow things to work after a bit of acclimation. Mostly, I would think, principles of focus and intent.

Hell, maybe that's something my "Ascension" faction could study as a subset of their focus on "the secrets of creation."
