One does not make jokes in a numerical cipher. Or base 13.

No, nobody's here.

Why am I on my fifth playthrough of Bastion rather than doing something worthwhile, like learning RPG Maker?

Who says mobile is taking over?
I think it's because people are looking at the raw numbers. Just shy of everyone has a phone, and today's phones are more capable of doing... pretty much everything. So, by the raw numbers of people doing the buying: of COURSE more people will be buying a game on a phone. That's kind of how the whole "casual gamer" market became a thing.

But I agree, it doesn't necessarily mean that traditional games are on the outs. Just because one plays a game on a phone, does not automatically make one a "gamer."

World of Darkness: Sonic the Hedgehog
Okay, specialties picked, and one ability shuffled. Not sure what I was thinking when I picked Enigmas for a computer-savvy individual, when Cryptography is probably a better idea.

Lost Sabers
"I also haven't slept properly for a few days. Stakeouts suck, but we should have this discussion where we've actually got cover," he said, yanking a crystalline machete from within his coat. With a surge of power, the machete glowed a faint red, and as he looked through the quartzlike blade, he had an idea of where the hostiles would be.

Demon Shuffle
Moloch hacked at the vines, but the weight of the axe meant he couldn't evade the punch at the same time. Still, being half-demon meant he was a hell of a lot more durable than he looked. The blast, which probably would have shattered the bones of a normal human, just knocked Moloch on his rear. "Aha, punching over your weight class. But you're abandoning your strength to shore up your weakness. Oh, what was said about that...?" he said as he got up. "'He who tries to defend everything, defends nothing.' And you can't sustain this power too long, can you?" The half-demon surged forward, bringing his axe up in a reversed chop.

-goes to get the fire hose-

That would be because the joke is too easy. Yes, it fits the theme. Yes, I'm sure she's buxom. But seriously, that's far too easy a play to be making. Certainly the mastermind has more creative potential than that.

"No! That's a bad place. That's a bad place for bunnies!"

"Run, Razputin. Run very fast..." -splat-

Lost Sabers
"Those ships? Kinda hard to crash if you're flying in air with no other traffic. They'll be fine. I don't see 'em taking off after 'landing,' but they'll safe enough," Taylor said, nodding. "Still, I'd better make myself scarce, arrange that transport for the non-natives." He turned to leave. "Seriously, if this is how they treat mortal victims, I'm surprised the Squad hasn't put out a formal hit on me."

Demon Shuffle
Moloch turned as Amber shouted at him, and he planted the head of his axe in the ground, runed side facing Amber. The stream of water parted around him like it would naturally around a stone in a creek. "Ho, too smart for your own good. And yet so deliciously foolish. You want to end me? Come on!" He flipped his axe around and plunged it into the dirt, causing the ground to spit out flames along the path between him and Amber.

Lost Sabers
"Tch. Denying yourself allies only leaves you with enemies. Then again, you never know who'll stab you in the back. So you're sure they're going someplace safe?" Taylor asked. The circumstances were suspicious, but he'd been able to trust Cable in the past... why so cagey now? He was being worse than some immortals he knew.

Demon Shuffle
Moloch raised his hand in mock salute as Ki rushed off. "Hmph. Killjoy. Disrupt my experiments, claim the moral high ground..." He seemed to vanish.

He would reappear in the town square, no spirits having attacked, but most people locked themselves up anyway. "Hmph, hmph. I can't give 'them' anything with which to follow me. Alas, you've all been very accommodating..." He looked to the sky and spread his arms. "...but now you must all burn." The sky darkened, and flaming meteors began to fall from the sky for miles around. "Who can follow the ravings of madmen, and the whispers of dead, across infinity?" He straightened, laughing as the town began to catch fire.

Lost Sabers
"Wait. Someone's really going for a witness purge? I'm being paid to get these people home, dammit. If you're gonna threaten my livelihood, be less obvious about it." Taylor was getting flustered. "Please tell me we're still all on the same side here... I'd hate to have to shoot someone I thought was a friend."

Demon Shuffle
All mirth left Moloch's voice as he said, "I see." He'd planned on doing this anyway, but he'd hoped that Ki would help him eliminate the dissent in his ranks. Unfortunately, this was not going to happen, not without some changes. Moloch raised his axe, and with a grunt of effort, moved to split the mushi master open like an overripe melon.

Lost Sabers
By the time Saber turned back around, Taylor was already half-dressed and pulling on his shirt. "Okay. So much for sleeping," he grumbled. "What are we so on edge about? Someone wants to purge witnesses?" He spun around, slipping his arms into his coat sleeves, and picked up his rifle.

Lost Sabers
Taylor 'hmm'ed. "Well the plan is to arrange transport for the refugees, get my pay for the hostage op, find what little evidence I can, and see if I can't link this incident to some other one and find a deeper pattern here," he said, sighing. "After the op's where most of the work is."

Demon Shuffle
"Regardless of my aims, it's folly to proceed without an appraisal of your capabilities. Suffice it to say, you've proven yourself. Now do you want to keep accusing me of aiming for something outside my own ability, or do we want to put an end to this assault? A group of my men, headed by my lieutenant, are diverting spirits into a familiar area of this forest so we can take them out before they become a problem to the settlement," Moloch said.

Demon Shuffle
Moloch harumphed, cutting down a spirit as it landed nearby as he tramped through the underbrush. Ki just had to go into the thicker forest. Not the first time he toyed with the idea of just burning it all level. "Well, look at you. Just a bona-fide handicapped badass, ain't ya?" Before Ki would answer, he shook his head; "No, that's not really a handicap, more just a nuisance."

Lost Sabers
Taylor made a thoughtful noise, draping his arm over Saber's shoulder. They could worry about all that when they were ready for it: for right now, little mattered more to him than the other's touch and company.
