Moloch headed for the inn, sitting in the common room and staring into the fire when Eli came in. "We are in no small amount of danger, Eli. We are going to have to take a risk," he said. "What are you talking about?" Eli inquired. "The new occult shopkeeper, and her bodyguard. They are not what they seem, and I think they are onto our operation." He got out an inkwell and a brush, and started laying designs on the head of his axe. "They know the spirits are being summoned, and are hunting for the one responsible." "You," Eli clarified. "But it isn't." Moloch looked up at his axe, digging out three more runed spheres from deep within his satchel. "I will need you to set an ambush earlier, with some of the men. Come here." Eli obliged him, and Moloch slit Eli's hand with a silver knife. Moloch held the spheres to the cut hand for a while, then drew them away. There was no blood on the metal, though, as if they had drank it. "There, it's done. You can use these spheres to summon and control spirit creatures stronger than we've brought down before," he explained. "S-stronger? This... this is serious, then," Eli said, his eyes wide. "I trust you. Once we pull this off, we will truly own this town. I do not tolerate threats to my plans..." Moloch fell silent, and went back to painting the runic design onto his axe.

"What are you talking about?" Eli inquired.

Taylor stood, headed over to Saber, laying his hand on her shoulder and looking her in the eyes. "Saber. I like you, trust you, respect you. I'd go through hell for you, alright? If I didn't want this... I'd have said 'no' already," he said, cupping his hand under her chin. Before she could say anything, he kissed her.

After Ki left, Moloch chuckled quietly. "It's not chess, though. Just checkers. And if given opportunity to, one must capture a piece," he muttered. He totally planned to "cooperate", it would give him perfect opportunity to silence the naysayers in his ranks, like Eli. It was a shame, though, he'd have to split such a pretty skull for his ambitions. No matter, once Ki and Amber were safely within his true sphere of influence, they would be his to mold.

He honestly hadn't expected Saber to answer that way, not after she'd defended his critique of the Squad. "It's quite different for me. I had to adapt the skills of a killer, to those of an investigator. I had to build trust with people who had plenty of reason to distrust me. I didn't go in wanting this kind of life... But with what I was given, and a little bit of help from folks who saw my potential, I built it into something I can call my own." Taylor looked up from the floor to Saber, while her back's turned. "I've put a lot of myself into it... but it's not like there isn't room for another."

"I have difficulty pronouncing my given name; so I just go by 'Moloch,'" he said with a shrug; though a brief bout with annoyance flashed across his face. It faded just as quick as it came. Literal hellspawn. I need to prove that I'm at least as good as people think they are; but my heritage works against me.
