| Prologue: The Future As It Was To Be July 2, 2110 1900 GMT Space Colony ARK Flight Deck If you were told that a few weeks ago, that the flight deck was severely damaged, you would've replied that that the person was crazy. That was a testament to the efficiency of the space colony's engineering section because in fact, a few weeks ago the flight deck was damaged. To the naked eye, everything looked the same as it did before, but to the cybernetically enhanced eyes of the pilot whose shuttle had just landed; Miles Prower -- everything stood out. The 5 foot, 8 inch tall Mobius fox stared out the cockpit, where there was enough light to see the activity within the deck without the aid of the scanning arrays. Contrary to popular belief, you were deaf and blind as soon as you were in open space. No brilliant explosions, no screeching phasers. It was better off that way for Prower. He had been through enough excitement for the last few weeks and then some. He sat there idly until his human co-pilot and compatriot Moddex Everest reached over and clapped him on the shoulder. Prower's head jerked to the right. “Last stop, gear head! Make sure to remove your carry-on luggage from the overhead compartment and thank you for flying with Zenith Defense Industries.” Moddex said, emulating the tone of a 20th century airline pilot. He smirked and raised both arms in the air, pumping his fists. “Arming freedom since 211-” “Not any more,” Prower cut him off with a hiss. “At least not yet,” That prompted a glare from the human. “You really know how to kill the mood,” “If it weren't for me being around, you would've shot your mouth off to Admiral Anderson and right now that kind of bullshit isn't what we needed. I'm partial to the idea of spending the rest of my time with Maria instead of being taken apart by USSN scientists,” Miles retorted. “We're going to get a lot of weird looks. People are going to be asking questions and we need to give them answers at some point,” Moddex crossed his arms. “Wondering why we all the sudden dumped our regular projects to put you back together, why you went out on EVA to blow up those G.U.N transports and why we were able to point the 1st System Fleet to Robotnik's base.” “The military's unquenchable thirst for new technology is kind of what started this mess in the first place,” The cyborg got out of his seat but before he could leave, Moddex grabbed his arm. Prower looked down at the human. “Would you tell Maria? Or Gerald?” he asked quietly. The fox considered his question for a few seconds. “I would, because I could trust them.” “Then do it,” Moddex let go of his arm. “Suppressing what's happened isn't going to work out for you and them.” The cyborg brushed Moddex's hand off his arm, turned to the left and squeezed his friend's hand. “All right,” He lost the dark tone. “I'll do it,” Miles then walked out of the shuttle, down the ramp that the outer door made and out onto the flight deck, going for one of the exits. 1906 GMT Crew Deck B He still remembered the code. It was hard to forget when you had a computer implanted within you that would store all of the data that came from your senses and from your mind. Once, the pathways to those memories was blocked off but when that block was broken, the data was still there. Hard to kill, just like him. As soon as he stepped onto the carpeting, the sound of his footsteps left but the humming that came from inside of him still remained. It was only noticeable by a few, himself included of course. The young woman who he lived with for the past year was part of that few. As soon as she heard it, Maria Robotnik jerked awake, sitting up on the padded couch that was by the door, her long blond hair spilled down onto her back and shoulders. Maria turned her head and let out a small yawn. “You're back,” she said. Maria then reached over her pillow, grabbed a small pair of glasses and fitted them over her eyes. For a split second, Miles could see graphical data representing the state of his systems and the room around him on the lenses in light blue. Maria then removed the glasses, got up off the couch and approached him. She held the glasses up to his eye level. “I need to know some things Miles,” “I figured you would be asking questions sooner or later,” The fox crossed his arms and walked past her. He settled down onto the couch and allowed his arms to rest against the cushions. Maria turned to face him and put the glasses back on. She squinted and looked down at herself. “Before you left, you gave me some kind of substance and since I'd taken it I've changed,” Maria slid a hand down onto her stomach. “Whatever it was, it's done amazing things. I've gained weight and kept it on. Not just fat but muscle mass as well. For the first time in my life, I feel strong. Whole. How did you cure me?” Miles tilted his head. “Moddex and I worked on a swarm of nanorobots for some time specifically for that reason. We made many breakthroughs,” “So I see,” Maria then settled down beside the fox and took the armored bicep of his left arm in her hands. “And this? Why was it necessary? In fact, why did you go out and destroy those ships and then leave with that USSN ship?” Miles turned his head to face her. She was making it easy for him. “It's a long story,” he said. “Just promise me if I tell you,” “Promise you what, Miles?” Maria let go of his upper arm and instead took his gloved left hand. Prower closed his eyes for a few moments and re-opened them. “Promise me that you'll believe it, in its entirety,” |

| You might actually be able to open .3DS files in Blender. Blender's an open source alternative to 3D Studio MAX (means that it's free to use and completely legal), though it takes some time to learn it. You can find it at http://www.blender.org According to its features section, it can work with the following 3D file types:
