Sonic Genesis (NEW GAME)
Looks cool, but no GBA. :( They should put it in a compilation or port it to other systems. I'd love it on my PSP or PS2.

America Occupied by Nazis!
Imagine an alternate reality where World War II wasn't won by Allied forces on the beaches of Normandy, but instead the Nazis overthrew Europe and, within a decade, had invaded and conquered America. That's the premise behind Fall of Liberty, a first-person shooter that promises to turn the WWII genre on its head.

Developed by Spark Unlimited, the team behind Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Fall of Liberty will be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC and casts the player as a resistance fighter battling not for the liberation of Europe, but for their nation's freedom in enemy-occupied America.

In the game's alternate reality, Winston Churchill is hit by a taxi on 5th Avenue in New York, but rather than surviving as his did 65 years ago, he was killed. Without his battle cry to inspire the Allied troops, the Nazis emerged victorious and - on December 7, 1951 - launched an all-out attack on the United States. The rest as they say is history. Well, sort of.

Although the game is still at an early stage in its development, with only a teaser screenshot of German troops marching through Washington in circulation, Codemasters promises an "intense and cinematic" experience with real-world locations to fight through, including a White House draped in Swastikas and a Manhattan Island that's under threat from nuclear attack. It's a totally fresh approach and with Spark's pedigree of creating believable, compelling gaming experiences, Fall of Liberty could give the historical FPS genre the shake up it needs when released at the end of next year.

I just beat Syphon Filter
Actually I only beat the story mode. I haven't even begun to unlock all the weapons and secret missions. :)

I just beat Syphon Filter
One of the best shooters on PSP and rivals those on PS2/Xbox. Easily the best in the series too.

I just beat Syphon Filter
Yeah.

I just beat Syphon Filter
Here's a video of the game incase anyone has no clue about this series/game.

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror that is. Sweet game! And a shocking plot twist at the end... I never expected it and I have never been shocked in a plot twist like that before. It was cool.

Sonic Adventure DX (PC)
Don't know and I'm not so sure it'll be knuckles. I tried something like that and it messed it all up. I don't know why.

Blu Ray
Well all I know is I wouldn't buy HD-DVD because PS3 is around the corner and it's just as cheap as an HD-DVD player also HD-DVD doesn't have any good movies for it. It's like buying a system for only one game and wishing you had bought the other.. That's what I think.

Blu Ray
Compression lowers the quality. It doesn't even matter anyway. Blu Ray players also play DVDs and no one's going to care if it uses too much space. The games also won't be more expensive. They can manufacture Blu Ray discs at a lower cost that DVDs now and they'll be around $60 like 360 games. They'll buy HD-DVD players and hate them. If they want to watch movies in HD. If they're just going to watch most of their DVDs on it, then there's no point. Like I said it was Sony's hands off aproach that let movie companies do whatever they want with the movies that led to UMDs being overpriced w/out any features.

Blu Ray
No it does not matter if the movies fail, because the games will still be made in Blu Ray. It does not need to be a standard to have companies producing games in Blu Ray. Look at UMDs it did not matter that the movies aren't doing well right now and it does not matter that DS games are a standard anywhere else. The system uses it so companies are going to make it. Sony has found a way to make BluRay cheaper to produce than HD-DVD too I believe. Yes the uneducated person will buy HD-DVD probably, but they will soon get rid of it when they find out no movies are being made for it. Seriously, I haven't seen any movies come out for it.. All the big movies say, "Coming out for DVD and BluRay" not HD-DVD. It's like buying a car. You look into two different models at a dealer and one is cheaper so you buy that one, then when you have it you realise you didn't make a very good choise and try to trade it in for the better more expensive model. It will come down in price. UMDs were different. They failed, because Sony gave movie companies a hands off approach so they could make it however they wanted. They flooded the market with overpriced UMDs. Sony is now taking action and will give them guidlines to follow. One of which may be a $15 price cap.

Is PS3 worth the price?
True, but Killzone wasn't always a Sony game. They recently aqcuired the company after Killzone came out. I don't really care about graphics either, but I don't like it when they're horrible.

Blu Ray
PS3 games will be $60 and when people buy HD-DVD they'll soon throw it away and buy Blu Ray. Most of Hollywood is supporting Blu Ray. HD-DVD won't be getting many movies. Blu Ray won't fail. Even if the movies do the games won't. Just because the movies fail doesn't mean they'll quit making Blu Ray games and since they're already making them on Blu Ray I don't see it getting more expensive. Think about this... When PS2 came out CDs were enough to fit a game on now some games on PS2 are using dual layer DVDs... Sony nearly owns 50% of the movie industry too. :)

Just a question
Oh sorry, not anymore. I removed that code. This thread should be closed. I will have an RPG soon though.

Hey
Hi! Welcome to the board! Hope you have fun and enjoy your stay.

Is PS3 worth the price?
Well you could say the same exact thing about the first Xbox and the 360, because most of the games on it were on Xbox and PS2. Their whole selling point was better graphics and PS3 will have lots of different games. They both will have their own exclusive games not all of them will be the same. Resistance won't be anything like GOW I don't think. GOW looks alot different gameplay wise. Only games from EA(I like to call them the whores of gaming. :D ) and other normally multiplatform games will be the same.

Is PS3 worth the price?
I'm not saying I'm excited about it. I was talking about graphics only and I was comparing graphics. I can't compare graphics without coming on like I'm excited? I guess I give off the wrong signals or something. IGN doesn't know squat about PS3, they're just a site. Even developers can be wrong too. The makers of Killzone said Killzone was the limit that PS2 could do and the graphic couldn't get better, but then came MGS3, GT4, God of War, Shadow of the collosus, etc. Also the makers of Dead or Alive 2 said DOA2 was maxing out the PS2, but they were wrong too. Look at Tekken 5. It all depends on the developers and if PS3 can't do those graphics then it's rather disappointing. Both consoles are disappointing if they can't do that atleast by the end of their life, because the graphics are so close to Killzone's already. COD3 looks pretty close. And if graphics don't advance that much then that's sad. Look at PS2 launch titles compared to Gran Turismo 4 or MGS3. That's how much things should progress in PS3's lifetime. Not just stay the same.

Blu Ray
Here's alittle what devs have to say about Blu Ray.... I've been hearing this for awhile already, but thought I'd post this newer article.

The debate over Blu-ray in the PS3 has only intensified as more information has come to light. Many people question whether or not a new format, especially with such a large amount of space, is really required for next generation gaming. Further, many people question whether or not the price increase due to the technology is worth the gain.

However not all views on the format have been doom-and-gloom. Several developers we contacted were eager to tell use why they thought Blu-ray was not only important, but imperative for the PS3 and Sony, and a genuine edge over Microsoft.

“Consider that games of the current generation have to use DVD5 or DVD9 for all of their content,” points out Mike Ball, Co-founder and CTO of Ninja Theory, the studio behind the anticipated title Heavenly Sword. “So roughly the storage medium is 100 times larger than the main RAM of the unit. Although they could, it's rare that a current gen title would take the option of pressing on CD for example. Next generation machines have ~512MB RAM on board, so a DVD5 or DVD9 is only 10-20 times the size of main RAM.

“Why is the ratio important? Many games use streaming, so a single level can require many times the amount of data needed to fill the main RAM of the console.” Mike goes on to point out that the quality of the content in the future is only increasing, and that the filesizes will follow. “Don't forget the streaming audio too. Dialog may be translated to multiple languages especially if a title is for multiple territories. Some audio may be surround sound, so that will push up the size. It's also worth considering HD video especially if it's 1080p @ 60Hz at high quality.”

The problem this presents is that the current DVD formats use a larger laser, allowing them to store less data in the same space a smaller laser, like the one in a Blu-ray player, can store and read. Mr. Ball says he thinks “it's not a problem for the current titles, [but] I'm sure that many will soon find a single DVD9 to be quite tight. In fact I'm sure it won't be too long before we see multiple disk games being released.”

Other developers have said that they value the improved data streaming that Blu-ray provides them, and the ability to create a game without worrying about distributing content between multiple disks. “With a single Blu-ray disk, you know that all the data will be there.”

While some think that the ability to put games on a single disk is not worth the cost of Blu-ray, the developers clearly disagree. We won't be able to make a completely educated judgment until the system is released, but we are looking forward to seeing the technology in action.

Is PS3 worth the price?
Whatever. Killzone will quickly be surpassed within a year I suspect. It is not like it's that great anyway. I still don't know why people think it can't be beat. Even if it takes till the end of PS3's life it will be beat.

Is PS3 worth the price?
Well I know some shots were from the demo. I don't remember saying those particular ones were from the demo. I just said that there was a demo and they were playable. I think these are newer that from the demo.
