Sonicblast5000?
The only conclusion is that it's a glitch. When you actually go to the artistic requests forum, it shows it's only moderated by the GFX Army and no one else. Plus the fact that it doesn't show any other forum moderators, makes it apparent that it's a glitch.

He wasn't a test account by me judging by the spammish postings.

Street Fighter X Tekken!
I'm much more looking forward to Tekken x Street Fighter as I'm more of a Tekken fan.

Here's the intro to inFAMOUS 2!

DC Universe Online, November 2nd
Well it launches on Nov. 2nd for all of you MMO fans. It looks pretty cool, but I don't know if I'll get it considering I have never played an MMO before.

which character should have a comeback ?

There is no character that should have a comeback. Comebacks aren't necessary.
Well neither are new characters, what do you say about that?? I disagree that they shouldn't come back if they are a good character, but I agree that they aren't necessary really.

A thought

^Yeah, I was a bit confused when ya said that myself. "Wait...only 25 regulars?" We've got more then that, they're just never on at the same time as one another and are in different sections of the board. ;)
That's exactly what I was going to say. lol I know there are tons all over the board that only frequent one specific location. We usually have around 100 members logged on in one day.

Street Fighter X Tekken!
Well Tekken 6 wasn't a very good attempt compared to Tekken 5, but now we have a new game that looks to be pretty cool. Street Fighter characters fighting Tekken characters!

They’re actually making two versions:

Street Fighter x Tekken will be made by Capcom and resemble 2D fighting.
Tekken x Street Fighter will be made by Namco and resemble 3D fighting.

Playstation Move was showcased 10 years ago!
http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3/playstation-3/news/playstation-move-we-saw-it-10-years-ago/a-20100622115147245088/g-20060314115917309058

A primitive version of the Move, however. Pretty interesting on how long they've been developing this technology.

PS3 and Dreamcast are 128 bits!

I'm still laughing at the fact that these new shiny graphics on consoles are basically just programming tricks. If they kept upgrading the graphics cards for each new XBOX 360 that rolled off the factory, then how would your older bloc 360s be able to run these newer games? Standard set of hardware across the board until the next generation comes out, and a bunch of code wizardry.

Also lol, the XBOX 360 has 512 MB of RAM in it, and laughably the PS3 has 256 MB. It just goes to show you that the number of cycles your CPU can throw out means nothing if you don't have enough RAM to fit the CPU's instructions and the data that's being modified.

Microsoft and Sony should start investing/advocating RAM upgrades. The hard drives are basically PC IDE or SATA drives, so that makes me guess that you could possibly throw a DDR2 or DDR3 RAM stick or two in their mobos. I got 4 gigs (Two 2 gig SO-DIMM sticks for my laptop) for about $50 :/. And the PS3 costs how much again?
Consoles aren't computers, they don't need massive amounts of ram as they don't multitask, they just run game programs. The PS3 has 512MB, it's just split between the CPU and GPU and can be used all at once.

Besides the PS3 uses ram that is way faster than ram in any consumer PC. It uses XDR ram. The Samsung XDR DRAM can transmit data with up to 9.6 Gigabytes per second, 12 times faster than DDR400 memory and 6 times faster than leading RDRAM.

As far as programming tricks, it is true, but in many cases(like with the PS3s different architecture from PC) it is just better knowledge on how to use the technology. With PC they don't have to learn how to efficiently code for hardware as they can just increase the specs. That's why Crysis 1 was so bloated for the time it came out. They could have pulled those graphics with lesser specs and more efficient coding.

The Fate of the Artistic Requests Forum
I think simply moving it to the main forum as opposed to a sub-forum would do wonders. Look at how the fan character shrine flourished after I moved it out of the Museum of Arts.

PS3 and Dreamcast are 128 bits!
Ever wonder why we don't measure in terms of bits anymore? Remember when 128 bits was huge, but curious why no one calls the PS3 or 360 256 bits?

Quote:

Remember when bits were everything? 32 bit versus 64 bit...the "24-bit" neo geo, the Jaguar "do the math" controversy - then the Dreamcast came along, the first 128 bit system, and pretty much everyone stopped talking about it. I even remember a time when I thought the intellivision and 2600 were 4 bit, because they came before the NES. You doubled the bits with the next system, that was just how it worked! But then it started to be about how emotional your engine was. Anyway, I decided to mail sony and ask how many bits the PS3 has. A gajillion? Six? Here's the official answer (bless them for indulging me, thanks to Sony PR boss dave karraker for getting a tech guy to respond to this - I can't think of anyone else that would do something this awesome):

"The PS3 is 128 bit, but it is more 128 bit than the others. The number of bits isn't really a very good measure anymore. To be honest, it hasn't been a good measure since PS1 days. That said...

Most single pieces of data fit in 32 or 64 bits. The benefit of 128 bits is that you can operate on 4 pieces of 32-bit data at the same time, which is called SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data). This is only useful for data that needs the same operation on all 4 pieces, which is common in games for things such as 3D graphical transformations, physical simulation, collision detection, etc. 128-bits is the "sweet spot" of price and performance, so that is what everyone seems to have settled upon.

To get more power, people have instead now been moving to more processor cores. (PS3 has 8, Xbox 360 has 3, Wii has 1, PS2 had 1 + 2 special-purpose, Xbox had 1, etc).

For graphics, it is even trickier to explain. The biggest difference is that in the past, graphics chips were "fixed-function". Now, they are programmable. But people don't really talk about it in terms of bits; instead, they usually measure in terms of flops."

Aside from maybe a little fudging in terms of the PS2 cores, because by that logic the Saturn had three, that's pretty interesting! So the PS3 is 128 bit - just like the Dreamcast! Which means the Dreamcast is still top of the line! The Intellivision, which I mentioned before, was actually 16 bit, according to the all-knowing wikipedia. So this clearly means the PS3 is worth 8 Intellivisions! I was also assured that the 360 and Wii are 128 bit as well. So while I knew bits no longer really 'mattered', I guess this is official confirmation that the bits war is over. It's all about cores now, and flops. Now that's a loaded word! As a bonus, here are some fun equations for you. Create your own!

New Medievil inbound!
I hope it's Medievil 3, but according to PSM3 magazine a new Medievil is in development by Cambridge Studio. It would be pretty awesome if the 3rd game included Playstation Move support, it would be a perfect game to play with that.

Infamous 2
It really does remind me of Uncharted 2, but that's not a bad thing and the game itself doesn't it's just the huge jump it made that did. The graphics alone are leaps and bounds over the first and it is using MLAA that's so far only been used in God of War 3 and Pandemic's The Saboteur(and in the upcoming Killzone 3 also).

MLAA stands for Morphological Antialiasing. The PS3 rendition of Pandemic's The Saboteur is special using MLAA. It's trying something new that's never been seen before on console, or indeed PC, and its results are terrific. In a best-case scenario you get edge-smoothing that is beyond the effect of 16x multi-sampling anti-aliasing, effectively delivering an effect better than the capabilities of high-end GPUs without crippling performance.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-saboteur-aa-blog-entry

So basically, MLAA eliminates jaggies for the most part and better than standard anti-aliasing. It also reduces the load on the GPU allowing for more performance. Pretty neat.

I finally got Flower
Well seeing as it won best 2009 Independent game, I figured I'd get it to see what the hype was about. Lets just put it this way, it's weird be extremely relaxing. The most relaxing game I've ever played. Has anyone else tried it?

Infamous 2
I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me and the actual gameplay has made me not care about the design change.

Just something I noticed...
*looks at hands* My pinky is the longest finger by far.

Infamous 2
Holy crap, the stuff in this game is a HUGE leap over the previous version!! And the first one was already good. Destructible environments, Uncharted 2 quality cutscenes, highly improved graphics(besting any other sandbox game), many more new abilities, etc... Sucker Punch has another hit on their hands.
