| Sony Pictures and Paramount might merge... |

Geez, even the movie industry is doing merging/consolidating. It's kind of old news but I don't know if I like this. Sony Pictures is already bigger than Viacom and adding Paramount would make them a mega studio so if this trend continues we may see less companies and more giant ones... The only cool thing is that Marvel movies could become mixed like Spiderman Vs. Iron Man. lol

This is what the good people over at Latino Review had to report about the merger: "Viacom Inc's Paramount Pictures could merge with Sony Pictures, Universal Studios or another movie studio amid a wave of consolidation in the industry over the next few months, veteran investor Mario Gabelli said in the latest issue of Barron's. The chief executive of Gamco Investors Inc, who owns shares of Viacom ( VIA - news - people ), said he expects dealmaking among movie studios as they seek to cut costs. 'Today there are seven or eight motion-picture studios. A round of consolidation will occur in the next six to 12 months because of the costs of financing, prints and advertising, the benefits of globalization and such,' Gabelli said. 'We hear talk of something going on." This is awesome news!!! If this merger happens then that means that Spider-Man could swing in and kick Tony Stark in the mouth. Or Spidey could help The Avengers with a little green problem they like to call The Hulk. The point is if this merger happens then we could be seeing a lot of crossovers in our movies just like we did with our comic books. Its really to bad Fox wont merge with any one(or is it no one wants to merge with Fox?). Then we could have our long awaited solid X-Men movie. Regardless merger or no merger, the message has been sent to Fox and they have read it: Jman states "The fans overall are not happy with the movies you are putting out there, you pleased the kids with Wolverine but the grown ups are left wondering what happened to 90 percent of the source material?" With that being said I am willing to give Fox one more chance. They know what they have to do to make Deadpool successful and they have the time to do it. If they botch this movie then all my faith in Fox studio's will be gone. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/LetsCutTheBS/news/?a=8022

I'm thinking it will be good because the game had a movie-like story unlike games in the past that have been made into movies. Apparently it has been in production for a year and a half.

AmyH, Creative Director of Naughty Dog has announced, in a recent liveblog over at the official Playstation Blog, that the U:DF movie has been in some form or another of production for the last year and a half, saying: ‘ We’re really excited about the development of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune as a movie — we’ve been working with Arad Productions for the last year-and-a-half or so, and couldn’t be happier about their enthusiasm for the project. We’re looking forward to sharing more info with you all as soon as we can. ’. Hopefully this means that the movie is rather far along and that more information will be released soon.

Although quite outrageous, I like it.

"Polyphony Digital's Citroën GT is set to become one of the most expensive "production cars" sold today, coming in at £1.1 million pounds or approximately $1.8 million U.S. dollars.
AutoCar got the scoop from "senior inside sources", who revealed that only six of the cars will be made - all of which will be powered by either a "Ford or GM V8?. That's considerably less than the 20 production models that were hinted at before, but according to AutoCar, "most of the concept's features should make the final production version, including the carbon-fibre construction and eccentric interior details such as the copper trim." Sweet! The final production version of the car is expected to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
While you're saving up, check out this video showing the GT's recent tour around London."

Metallix, I do not mean that only die hard Sony fans buy that but mostly the people I know who own PS3s are fanboys who refuse to even look at anything else. I like my XBox and my 360 but I loved my PS2 a lot and I would've happily bought a PS3 where it not for that damn price. If you could buy ones without a Blu-Ray player in-built I'd be more willing.
What I mean is, most of the games come on out both 360 and PS3 apart from the occasional exclusive here and there I would much rather buy the cheaper of the two and be happy with the games than spend more money on a console who's games are mainly geared towards men anyway and don't have as much choice open to it. Ok, all I'm saying is that it's not fair to peg everyone as a hardcore Sony fan which you did say in your first post.
Your opinion is understandable though. Although I see things a bit differently. |

They didn't say. In Home all of my clothing is the same as Cole's. lol I don't know how I just got them for free when signing on, probably for buying the game.
I hope the space has something interesting in it like the EA space. |

| All I could say is I would never use the GBA slot and not just because I don't have any GBA games. lol Mainly because I never used backwards compatibility on my PS2 or PS3. It's good for some people, but when there are so many new games coming out I never have any interest in playing old games. Usually I'll play old games after like 5-10 years when I just want some nostalgia. |

Okay well, I don't own a PS3 but I am entitled to an opinion on this.
If the PS3 dropped it's prices I would be encouraged more to buy one since I already have a Blu-Ray player I do not need to be paying over the odds for something I want to be playing games on and only games.
Now, the PS3 at the moment is £299.99 where I work (that's the cheapest package) the cheapest package for a 60GB (I will exclude a 360 Arcade from this since it doesn't have a harddrive etc anyway) is £179.99. Now, correct me if I am wrong but unless you are a die hard Sony fan boy, if presented with the choice of buying a PS3 at three hundred or a 360 for one hundred and eighty I certainly know where my investment lies.
You also don't need to buy any of that humph that has been listed (wireless receivers etc), I have wireless in my house all I did was build a REALLY crappy computer that could run internet explorer or firefox on it, ensured it was receiving wireless and ran a cable from the really crappy computer into the XBox, voilà, Xbox live ready. Not that I ever use Live, I am not a fan. But if the PS3 was 179.99 then yes, I would definitely buy it. But at it's current standing no. Well Eileanach, I don't think you need to be a die hard Sony fan to buy a PS3, there are lots of people who aren't die hard fans who buy the system. People do buy them for the games you know? It has had the most hits of all the consoles for the first half of the year. Also in Europe the PS3 is doing extremely well, it's Sony's Success story for the PS3. Currently the 360 and PS3 are very close in Europe and the PS3 came out 1 year and 4 months later in Europe than the 360.

You don't NEED to buy any of that junk...
Live is really the only essential buy and it is more than worth the investment.
Funny how Xbox fans opinions change sooo sooo fast... Back when it was PS2 and Xbox the Xbox fans bragged about how the Xbox has everything built in and with the PS2 you need to buy a Network Adapter, Harddrive, Multitap, etc.... Now having everything sold in pieces is the way to go.
Also who are you to determine to the world that they don't need to buy that? I would have needed a wifi adapter if I bought a 360. In my situation I added up the cost of the Arcade/Pro and every configuration added up to be more or equal to a PS3. I hate the Arcade with a passion, it's a piece of garbage. It also hinders Microsoft from not having standardized harddrives in their system. They can't have games with installs like on PS3/PC, they can't have huge file downloads on live, etc... |

Yeah we knew it was going there before, but it looks like it's in heavy production now. I hope it comes out in Fall. Also Nolan North, the VA for Drake, should be the actor to play him. Drake has to have the same voice, it would just be unacceptable not to have that voice.

News in Hollywood travels fast! I am happy to confirm that it is indeed true, Sony Computer Entertainment has signed a deal with Columbia Pictures for a movie adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and it will be produced by Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner. We have been working with Avi and the folks and Columbia for quite some time and look forward to sharing additional details on the film in the short future. Obviously we designed the game to be a cinematic experience and we too can’t wait to see it on the big screen. So, who do you think should play Nathan Drake?

You can never prove yourself right based on opinions alone and not listening to the other side.
Hardware wise it is inferior to the PSP... And the cameras are so pathetic they are not worth the price jump. And why give up GBA slots just so you can re-download perfectly useable games that you could use on a NORMAL DS just because the DSi is too much of a market ploy to not use them. I swear it's just like the retarded PSP GO. I can drive to the Nintendo US Headquarters since I'm like.. 25 minutes away from it and slap some sense back into the higher ups but Microsoft is like... 2 minutes away from them and enjoys watching them screw themselves over.. slowly but surely.
But to be positive.. it has really shiny lights and an addicting paper airplane game along with a decently functional internet usage. The difference is the PSP Go will have some way of downloading your already purchased UMDs for free. Not sure how that will work yet, but that's Sony's plan.
As far as screwing themselves over... Really? They've already sold 100 million of them and the DSis are reigniting the interest in the platform. |

I don't see why people frown at the PS3 being $399 when people were more than glad to buy a $399 360 when it launched and the launch 360 didn't even have half of the hardware that the PS3 has in it(No HDMI Port, No Wifi, Much Smaller HDD, etc). $399 is a good deal for all that you get, but alas people just look at the initial sticker price and never consider the costs thereafter which is where the PS3 ends up being cheaper... It's not like it desperately needs it anyway. Worldwide on an annual basis the PS3 has sold more than the 360. After 2.5 years the 360 sold 21 million and after 2.5 years the PS3 sold 23 million at DOUBLE the price. I don't see why the media constantly bashes the price/sells of the PS3, making it look worse than it is.
I see a price cut coming, but not now. It would be stupid for them to cut it now. They're probably going to announce a cut at TGS for the fall. There are rumors of a PS3 slim release this fall. Idk if it's true but undoubtedly a Slim PS3 will come out sometime in the future. |

Ever wonder what goes into the making of a video game? The July issue of Game Informer reveals a number of fun facts from the Sucker Punch team regarding the development of their super-hero exclusive, inFAMOUS. We thought we’d go ahead and share a few of our favorites from the issue and also the development team with you!
* In addition to the kitchen espresso, the inFAMOUS team traveled to Starbucks approximately 18,200 times. Two groups of 10 people per day, five days a week. * There were 10 inFAMOUS babies born during development. One employee had two during that time. * It took over 70,000 separate art, code and media check-in submissions to make inFAMOUS. * The inFAMOUS team consumed 17,472 cans of diet Coke and 13,104 cans of diet Pepsi during development. * There were no less than 14 high rise buildings constructed within 3 blocks of Sucker Punch’s offices during the inFAMOUS development cycle.
Here are a few more fun facts about inFAMOUS worth mentioning…
* inFAMOUS is the fastest demo to reach the 1 million milestone on the PlayStation Network. * According to a recent NPD report, inFAMOUS was the fifth best-selling software title for the month of May after being on the shelves for only 6 days (the title launched on May 26).
We’ve also got a new video to share… check out this walk-through video of the Titanic Beatdown mission with commentary from Sucker Punch Game Designer, Darren Bridges.
But wait, we still have one more fun fact to share with you all…
We’re excited to announce that a new inFAMOUS space will be launching in Home very soon. We’ll have a lot more details on the new space for you all next week, so please stay tuned!
