Sly Cooper Game Discussion?
I just found out this game is a cross-controller game!! Meaning if you have it for PS3 and Vita(which if you buy the PS3 version you get the Vita version for free) you can use your Vita to control it on your PS3 and utilize the touch/camera functions. I will definitely buy it on priority now. I probably will get the cross controller DLC for LBP2 also but that's another topic.

TKC, have you played this on cross controller settings?

Microsoft is going to have to reveal some real good stuff to combat all the backlash they have been getting since the Xbox One reveal. (Personally am hoping it's a terrible conference so I can convince my brother we must convert to Sony  )

Anyway, I have a few games I know I'll be looking out for, including the new Sonic one, but I find I always get the most excited for the games I don't know about. So I'm looking forward to an epic reveal or two. I'm also looking forward to finally seeing how the PS4 looks like. (Well, hopefully see it >_< )
I don't expect Microsoft to hit it out of the park because the last 2-3 years haven't been that great. They cover up their lack of content with showmanship such as celebrities and lots of production value but as far as content they haven't really had any great shows lately. Not terrible, mind you, but considering how the 360 has been these past few years and now the focus of Xbox One being multimedia I just don't see their games matching Sony or Nintendo. Who knows though but their track record as of late has been lacking.

I too want to see the design of the PS4. Sony always has good designs, imo, so I expect it to look better than the Xbox One and the Wii U. There was a teaser trailer for it but you can't really tell much of the design. I also expect them to have so unexpected shockers in store for their conference.

I certainly hope Uncharted moves to PS4. Uncharted 4 would be boss! I'm currently playing through Golden Abyss for the PSVita and it's pretty good. It's amazing how good the graphics are for a handheld. It's up to par with the first and exceeds it in many ways. Not as good as the 2nd or 3rd though but still it was a launch title. I expect The Last of Us to have a sequel on PS4 at some point since Sony trademarked TLOU2 & 3.

I also really want a Ratchet & Clank PS4 that is as epic as the PS3 Future titles.

Here's some interesting and very awesome news! The rumors were true and every PS4 game will be required to support remote play on the PS Vita. I'm glad they are making this mandatory for developers to include in their games!

They've dabbled with this feature on PS3(PS1 games can be played via remote play and so can a few select PS3 games including God of War 1&2 HD, and ICO/SOTC HD) but it wasn't built with that in mind so it consumed to much processing power to do for every game. I've actually used the feature and it is very cool to be able to play full fledged console games on your handheld anywhere there is wifi.

So far when it comes to Remote Play between the PS4 and PS Vita, we found out on February 20th that it would happen, with the official PlayStation website stating that we can play our “favorite” PS4 games on the Vita.

Today, “a trusted PlayStation 4 developer source with a proven track record for accuracy” talked to Digital Foundry and said that Sony is asking for Remote Play through the PlayStation Vita on all PS4 games, except the ones that require the PS4 Eye.

On Twitter, Shuhei Yoshida (@yosp), President of Worldwide Studios, was sent “I’ve just read all PS4 games will use the Remote Play feature. Is this true? I think it’d be great for both PS4 and Vita.” Here’s his response, confirming the news:

Yes, it’s true unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera. It will be great to play PS4 games on PS Vita.

So, as long as the usage of hardware that doesn’t exist on the Vita is a requirement, you’ll be able to play all your PlayStation 4 games through the PlayStation Vita’s Remote Play.

What’s the first game you think you’ll try via Remote Play? Let us know in the comments below.

See this is why I don't think people will be interested. It has more competition than a traditional gaming console because there are already many devices out there that fill the roll of the "all-in-one" device.

E3 2013
So lets get our guessing on! What do you think will be at this year's E3? It's looking to be the biggest E3 in years with two new consoles being on the floor.

I am not sure about Nintendo but I heard they will not be having a conference but will be there with games to play?

I expect Microsoft to unveil some new games. They said there would be 15 exclusives in the first 12 months. I'm willing to bet 6 of them will be kinect titles but who knows.

Sony will obviously unveil their new console with full specs and more details on the UI. Rumors are The Last Guardian will be there as a PS4 title as well as Final Fantasy Versus XIII renamed to FFXV(FF15) and moved to PS4. I expect Planetside 2 to be a PS4 launch title. I'm sure they have unannounced games for PS4 and Vita. Maybe even some new PS3 games.

Any rumors or theories you have for E3? It's only two weeks away!!

Looks like Microsoft is digging their own grave! Good job. I applaud them.

I love to see Xbox fanboys go all batshit over this. PS3 HAS NO GAMES? Well guess what, XBOX ONE HAS NO GAMES. (Unless you count Kinect, I guess. Hahaha.)

*grabs popcorn for E3*

I think most Xbox fans are no longer Xbox fans... I have read many people saying they are going to Sony or Nintendo. As for E3... Microsoft hasn't had a good E3 in years, I don't expect much this year either. Lately they have been making it a show with actors and flash to cover up that they don't really have that much content to show off.

And Xbox One is region locked.
Not a big surprise but as it was just officially confirmed thought I should bring it up.

That was expected. That was one of the features that I thought was great about PS3. The games weren't region locked. I actually imported a game from Hong Kong(it had English so I could understand it) which wasn't possible on previous systems.

Apparently Microsoft has also blocked comments on their videos, according to another forum I frequent. They don't want to hear fan feedback apparently... also posted on the other forum, apparently they're blaming the media for consumer rage according to this article.
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Microsoft-Blames-Gaming-Media-Xbox-One-Consumer-Rage-56056.html
Wow Microsoft, it wasn't the media that lead to our opinions on your fancy Betamax player it was YOU. How you guys presented the console, and all the other crap that the consumer would have to go through just to play the newest games is what bringing the gaming community against you. I wonder what new "feature" is going to be revealed next... Also it's time for Microsoft to get out of the gaming industry and go back to working on Windows only after this generation of gaming is done.

What are they going to do? It's too late to make drastic changes because most of the stuff is set in motion. They can't delay the console because Sony and Nintendo will trump them. They can do some small changes but what it seems like they are doing is ignoring the problems and just blaming everyone else.... Which solves nothing.

More news.... Apparently it won't support Blue Tooth either. It's confirmed to IGN by a Microsoft representative.

Devs express disappointment in the Xbox One

Microsoft expects 1 billion Xbox One sells
^ That is just ridiculous! He expects 400 million to upwards of 1 billion. Yeah friggen right!! The best selling console of all time only sold 155 million. They are being more cocky than Sony with the launch of the PS3.

So, how bad was the presentation? So bad that Amazon sales of the Wii U in the UK absolutely sky-rocketed;

http://www.cubed3.com/news/18854/1/wii-u-uk-sales-skyrocket-on-amazon-uk-after-xbox-one-showing.html

Yeah, it's safe to say that it is point, the competition is going to be between Nintendo and Sony and Microsoft is not going to do all that well this gen. =|
I kinda figured... After watching it I even felt like getting a Wii U down the road as a supplemental console.

So out of curiosity, what can be said about the Xbox One that's positive? I'm more of a Sony supporter, and I can already say with confidence that I won't be buying this, but I'm interested in seeing what might actually be considered good about the Xbox One. I mean, I can't be all bad. Can it?
The only good thing I have seen is the controller itself is pleasing. Looks less generic than the 360 controller, more sleek. Really there hasn't been much positive talk about it. A funny thing is no one invited to the conference from the press were even clapping during the conference, Microsoft hired an audience to applause when they wanted, otherwise it would have been dead silent. It's like they knew...

Which I'm sure you're all too happy to report, Mr. Sony. ¦P

But yeah, that's kinda dodgy. Microsoft y'done goofed.
Hey I would rather have Sega back in business because anything Microsoft has made can't even touch what they put out in their heyday. Yeah I've never been an Xbox fan but since Sega coming back isn't realistic I was at least hoping and expecting them to put a good effort into it. I expected the rumors to be false. I expected something that would force Sony to try their best(which by how the PS4 is looking it looks like the 360 really made them go all out for their next system) which is what I want because competition is a good thing for everyone. I know Microsoft is a money hungry company but just wow... You see, Sony shot themselves in the foot with the PS3's price and Cell processor but Microsoft pretty much have shot themselves in the face...

It just keeps getting worse!! It appears the Xbox One has a proprietary port making it incompatible with all current headsets! It's just to get more money!! The Xbox One is just an attempt at being a cash cow but I really think it will backfire on them!!

Doubt it's official but I expect both the PS4 and Xbox One to be that price. 399 dollar/euros because they always price it at the same euros despite the exchange rate.

I don't really think it's that bulky. =|
It's not too bad, it's smaller than the original Xbox but looks to be a bit bigger than the first 360.

I don't mind no backwards compatibility either, I have never used it on my PS2 or PS3. Kinect is required for it to function so it'll be packaged in for sure but it's not integrated. They have stated they have like 15 exclusives within the first 12 months for it but I'm willing to bet half of them are kinect titles.

They had a chance to capitalize but now even if they do well at E3, the damage is already done. Hype has been killed and with a great showing of games I doubt it can match Sony's E3 unless they do something very stupid as well but it's very likely that they are sitting back and taking notes so they can deliver a huge blow to them.

I'm interested to see a price tag though.
Judging by the fact that the Kinect is a standard feature now I am reasonable confident that it will cost more then the PS4.
Probably, there are rumors of a subsidized price though but Sony could do that as well. I am seriously hoping for only $400. I'd be happy if they were both that price but maybe just maybe they could pull it off cheaper? Who knows.
It seems internet is required!

Quote:

The Xbox One doesn't have to be online all the time, but it does have to be online. Not just once in a while—once a day, according to Microsoft vice president Phil Harrison.

In a Q&A on their press site for the new Xbox, Microsoft tackles the always-on question with a strangely-worded answer: "No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet."

At the event in Redmond today, Kotaku boss Stephen Totilo asked Phil Harrison for clarification on this. And what Harrison told us might not please people who enjoy playing Xbox on military bases or other locations without Internet.

"There are many devices in your life that require the Internet to function," he said. "Xbox One is no different in that it requires, at some point in the beginning and at various times through its on state, to connect to our cloud and to our Internet. That is to deliver Xbox Live functionality, that is to deliver download content to you, that is to deliver some of the innovations around TV and entertainment that we showed today. But it doesn’t require it to be online all the time."

So how often does it check your connection? "Depends on the experience," Harrison said.

"For single-player games that don’t require connectivity to Xbox Live, you should be able to play those without interruption should your Internet connection go down. Blu-ray movies and other downloaded entertainment should be accessible when your Internet connection may be interrupted. But the device is fundamentally designed to be expanded and extended by the Internet as many devices are today."

And here's the bombshell:

Kotaku: If I’m playing a single player game, do I have to be online at least once per hour or something like that? Or can I go weeks and weeks?

Harrison: I believe it’s 24 hours.

Kotaku: I’d have to connect online once every day.

Harrison: Correct.

So the system is built to work even if your Internet connection goes down, but you still have to be connected at least once a day to use it, Harrison said. We're not sure exactly what would happen if you don't connect once per day—and that timeframe could change—but this doesn't sound good for anyone who was hoping to use Xbox One without an Internet connection.

Seems the HDDs aren't even serviceable anymore...

We had the opportunity to chat with Albert Penello, senior director of product planning at Microsoft this afternoon, who was kind enough to clarify a few topics for us regarding the recently-unveiled Xbox One. One thing we were quick to ask about was the integrated storage. 500GB sounds like a lot today -- but so did the 20GB unit in the original Xbox 360. The HDD there was, at least, replaceable. Can you do the same with its successor?

Sadly, no. Hard drives in the Xbox One are non-user-serviceable, but Penello confirmed that the USB 3.0 port is there for external storage, which can be used for everything the internal storage can be used for. That includes game installs and downloads. So, don't fret: adding storage will be just as easy as ever.

Why would they think buying a box to watch TV on would be a good idea? Not to mention, as I said before, Live TV won't even be available at the UK on launch... It's like it's focused on the U.S. market. I'm interested to see a price tag though.

Also, what's with the name? It's stupid! It's not the first Xbox but this makes it sound as if it is which could be confusing to dumb consumers. Just Xbox would have been fine.
I believe its because (like you said) they want it to be an all-in-One box that does everything, so in that respect the name kinda makes sense.
That makes sense, but I don't think most people will think of that without the right marketing and I don't particularly like it. It isn't a bad name though and it's just a name.
