I vote for locking all of the stupid, pointless topics. It is not a SPAM forum and never was. If spam is allowed, the mods aren't doing their job.
The rule does not claim it adds anymore fun to it, but putting a Sonic-Twist on an idea can lead to something being more unique. I don't see why it has to be so uninspired like your example. It all is up to the creator to be creative. I haven't seen one forum that has Sonic games so why not be different?
Going by your example, it does not make it more difficult to introduce new games. After all, all you have to do is change a few words and *BAM* it's Sonic-related... I don't see how you can go one way with one example and then the complete opposite with another.
Uh, no. It's just so it isn't a completely off-topic pile of crap. Maybe the rule should be, try to be Sonic-related but not everything has to be? Nevertheless, a Spam forum it is not and those cancerous topics must be incinerated in the most painful of ways, forum chemo. |

| Pretty much all I play is single player on Killzone 2, I'm not much of an online guy. I'd recommend it, it's not super long, but not short by FPS standards and has quite a lot of action/challenge. |

| I don't really know what to make of it as I could not listen to the audio, but... here it is anyway. It really isn't supposed to show you game play though. It was more of a tech presentation to show how the game looks and how awesome the animation is otherwise it would show combat. I want to see some combat gameplay. |

| Dunno, but probably the same as every other Platinum title in the UK. Btw, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 were Platinum in Europe for some time already. They sold better over there, hence why they became Platinum first. |

I have all of these games except for UFC, which I may get. Glad some of the best games have come down, now more people will buy them on top of the lot that already did.

I agree with that. Splitting the atom was originally for good, but people turned it into a weapon. Who's to say they can't make these things airborne and target specific people? |

It definitely did not sound that way at E3 when they announced it as only on PS3/PC. You never know though, it could be timed. I bought the first disc and finished it on the first disc, what are the other discs for exactly? Do I have to pay more for them, because I did not receive any additional discs. |

| Well I finally beat the game. It's pretty awesome, the Chronos Level was massive!! Even bigger than the titan levels in the beginning. The pacing was excellent as well, it kept you wanting more. The puzzles were great, just like the previous GOW games, albeit slightly easier to figure out. And the weapons! I loved all of the different weapons they had in the game, it was much better than how they did things in the previous games. The story is as good as some of the best available in gaming, especially if you are eager to find out what happens after GOW2's cliffhanger. That said, I preferred Heavenly Sword's story to GOW3s. It's such a shame that a great game like Heavenly Sword got murdered by the media and rabid fanboys. It was just as good of a game as God of War, it was a classic, but back in 2007 the media had a vendetta on the PS3 and anything that was good was tarnished and not given credit for being great games. Happened with Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, etc. Finally things have changed, but it's just such a shame what happened to Heavenly Sword and now people are finally giving credit where credit is due. |

| Next-Gen Graphics look better than last-gen CGI |

The unreal engine looks horribly outdated to me compared to Killzone 2's engine. Of course I know all of their tricks like lighting baked into textures to give an illusion of looking better than it really is.
I said a few years in, usually, and not always the case but the example I gave is just one series that looks better. Also Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time looks just as good as that CGI in Shadow. The cutscenes in A Crack in Time are all in-game graphics. |

| I agree with you on that one, Nail. A lot of games do look the same. Some games have different art styles though and it's nice when those come around. I think a big offender for a lot of games looking the same is because many companies use the Unreal Engine. Bioshock, Mirrors Edge, Punisher: No Mercy, The Last Remnant, etc, etc, etc all use the same engine. Some games using it have a unique look, but most of them are all the same with the characters that look like plastic and everything is shiny. |
| Nintendo 3DS |

I agree. Backwards compatibility is great for the start of a new product, but I see no point in newer versions keeping it if it has been years outdated. As for the 3D, it's cool, but eventually they'll run out of gimmicks and what will they do then? A small handful of first party games a year isn't going to cut it for me. Motion gaming, dual screens, 3D, etc.... I feel that to get attention companies(not just Nintendo) are just trying to change the tradition but lack focus on actual high production games. Nintendo already tricked so many into thinking that two screens is innovative but most of the games hardly utilize it well, once again it's mainly Nintendo's games that do. But if it supports lots of games that aren't shovelware, I would take a look into it. |

| Has anyone ever noticed this? Everytime a new console comes out the gameplay(after a few years in) looks as good if not better than the CGI used in games before? An example, God of War 3's in-game graphics look much better than the CG movies in both of the previous games for PS2. Many PS2 games have better graphics than the CG in PS1/N64 games. |

Not really, God of War 2 took me 13 hours to beat. It can be beat quickly(heck the originals can be beat in under 5 hours if you're very good at them), but most people won't even be close to beating GOW3 in 7 hours. |

| I got the game! The first boss battle is impressive, better than the Hydra and Statue guy from GOW2. Also the titans dwarf Shadow of the Colossus's bosses in scale, they are so massive! Still playing through it though and I haven't come close to beating it. |
| Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii? |
|---|
| Posted: Mar 21 2010, 10:44 AM Forum Act II: Video Game Station View full topic |
Sure, but there's no denying that the PS3 is a better value than the 360 hardware wise. Preference does not effect what kind of a value you're getting with your hardware and your original argument was that it annoyed you paying for more when that simply is no longer the case as it's the same price. Why are we discussing this anyway? This is about preferences and Nail's preferences are to not pay more for accessories. It does not need to be refuted, but what you originally said is incorrect.
That's just what they told me at Gamestop. My friend pointed it out and laughed and started talking to the employees about it and they told me it was only 6 months old. Jasper 360s were being sold since fall 2008. Even if it wasn't a Jasper, it's still reinforces a bad image on their product and I wouldn't trust anything Microsoft says, because they only admitted to it due to a widespread problem. I'm sure they got rid of their astronomical failure rate, but the whole "RROD proof" is just B.S. No console is immune from failure, even the Wii. |
