I know TF (Tails Fanatic) has one, but he got it due to a different circumstance.

As for those that have Master Emerald thanks to getting 10,000 posts: None, because the only two that have that many posts are staff members.
Well he had one until he became an RP staff. http://sonicblast.org/profile/189/

Wulfgirl is catching up to 10k quickly though. Only been here since Feb and already has 6k+ posts.

Well Hope she gets it...
Since you're new... What do you think of the ranking system(pardon me if you have already answered that)? Do you think it provides an incentive to rank up?

Henry Ford did not invent the assembly line
I found it interesting that it was Oldsmobile that did it first.

Henry Ford did not invent the assembly line
Like saying night is day or Pink Floyd isn't the greatest rock band of all time, saying Henry Ford didn't invent the assembly line goes contrary to conventional auto wisdom. But he didn't. It was actually Ransom E. Olds.

You read that correctly, Pink Floyd is the greatest rock band of all time. However, it's also notable that Henry Ford, genius of mass production and ardent anti-Semitic founder of Ford Motor Company, didn't actually invent the assembly line, despite often being credited as such. The honor for this innovation instead rests on one of the giants of the era, Ransom Eli Olds. Ransom is one of the forgotten masters of the early century, the man most credited with bringing mass-production to Detroit and largely establishing the auto industry. The Oldsmobile Curved Dash was, for a time during the nineteen-ought's, the best-selling car in America and is considered the first mass-produced vehicles in history, selling 5,000 units in 1904. Those kinds of numbers would imply there was some kind of mass production system behind it.

Olds grew up the son of a blacksmith and learned his fathers ways — diligence and exacting work — at an early age. At the closing of the 1800s, Ransom got to tinkering with steam-powered cars but soon moved to gasoline. In 1895 Ransom and his father opened Olds Gasoline Engine Works where the two experimented and worked and by 1896 had built their first gasoline-powered automobile. He even went so far as to go racing with the terrifying creation above dubbed the "Olds Pirate." In 1897 he opened the Olds Motor Vehicle Company and that year sold a grand total of four cars.

The initial cars didn't sell very well on account of expense and what we'd consider an aversion to being and early-adopter. By 1899 an investor by the name of Sam Smith stepped in and bought the company, putting Ransom in charge of operations. 1901 was a harrowing year for Olds, having moved his operations from Lansing to Detroit and set up shop at the Olds Motor Works, he faced setbacks when the factory burnt to the ground in March. The Curved Dash Oldsmobile prototype was one of the few cars saved from the fire. He began producing later in the year and not only radically reduced the price of the car but made interchangeable parts the order of the day. When supply was outstripped by demand Olds developed and patented the very first assembly line. Ransom put in place much of what we recognize as the assembly line today, defined repetitive operations, fixed stations and parts delivered to the worker. In 1902 the factory's output quadrupled from 425 cars in 1901 to 2,500. By 1905 Olds had moved back to Lansing and was building 5,000 cars a year.

Eventually Smith wanted to go upmarket to serve the burgeoning luxury market and Ransom Olds left to form REO Motor Company and organized many of its suppliers. The credit for the invention of the assembly line often goes to Henry Ford because of one very critical addition, Ford put the cars on a conveyor of sorts, creating the all-important moving assembly line.

Fanfic/fan creations on the website?

Adults are kids who are better at pretending to be something else.

That said, adults have their careers, reputation, etc. to worry about. If an adult were to behave in real life like a lot of kids here act, their careers would be over. The problem with forum-goers is a lack of restraint, not necessarily their age.

Exactly my point... Your main concern is about their psyche and even if they cover it up, they still have the same emotions. So some people make a fuss, I really couldn't care. It happens all the time when we pick moderators, someone always says that they should have got it, it really isn't a big deal.

It doesn't have any more of an effect on their psyche than someone negatively criticizing their work that they thought was good. I've seen it happen here many times and while they do get upset and throw a small tantrum, they usually get back on the horse and try to prove them wrong.

Lets not get too off-topic though, if you really don't like the competition thing then how do you suggest we put people's work on the website? Don't say use everything, because we don't want to put up some noob that joined yesterday, is 8, and completely sucks at drawing up there.

I don't buy that adults are so much more sophisticated, they have emotions too and if someone says their writing sucks they aren't going to like it. Many adults give up writing too and develop the same psychological conditions as teens, they aren't invulnerable.

Besides no one is going to throw a tantrum that we didn't include their work on the website, because we aren't going to select mediocre stuff for voting and they will know that no matter what happens none of their work sucks.

I say that's still a competition. Writers who get posted on the site will still develop hubris. Writers who are not selected will still wallow in despair because someone enjoyed their writing less than some other schmuck's.
Read my edit, and they don't need to know it's a competition. For all they know it's just randomly selected.

Alright then, no competitions. We'll just go around picking out what's already there and vote on it like Bowie said. What do you think of that?

And what is so bad about competition anyway? You do know that competition is what got the book Frankenstein written, right? If it wasn't for them competing over who made the scariest story, it would have never existed.

Sonic's Twelve Days of Christmas
I motion that we start over but use different stuff this time. ;) This is a great forum game.

On the first day of Christmas Sonic team gave to me a cowardly Antoine.

We could do both, have people search for great old comics and have newer ones put in there by contest. I'm sure we can get participation once it's set up and people want to have their work as a part of Sonic Blast.

which is the best super form
My favorite super form is still Super Sonic and Hyper Knuckles. I wish I still had that Super Sonic Vs. Hyper Knuckles comic, it was my favorite when I was a kid.

An archive? Like you are constantly putting a big list of stories and comics that will never come down then and such like that.
Well, yes, but not putting a ton of content. Just some of the better work and if people want theirs up on the site it would be judged in the next contest.

Quote:

If you want that type of archive, I think the easiest way you could do is have a weekly voting on the best fan-created material, or actually designate a group of people to scour the Museum and collectively decide themselves. I wouldn't base the task around contests, mostly because a lot of contests on here are never fully finished in the first place.

This contest would not require a prize, the prize in a sense would be having the honors of being put up on the website. So the problem of not being finished is solved because the main reason they never fully finish is no one creates a prize for the winner.

Not to mention it could be cool to see past avatar/signature contest winners posted on the website, with a link to the user's profile if desired. But how would this all work, may I ask? Would it be in a hall of fame style section of the website?

Hall of Fame! Yes, that's what I was thinking. Something similar to that.

Well, I have an alternate way of picking rather than a separate contest. When the awards contest start, I'll just add a best fanfic and comic awards. The winners will be placed in the spotlight until the next awards to see if they stay there or if someone else gets the spot.
I'm not liking that idea too much, I kind of wanted an archive of the best stuff we have to offer for people to view. Obviously there is too much for everything to be on the site, but just some of the best.

I was thinking that we have contests for comic making and/or just voting and putting the most liked comics, art, etc on the main website. Anyone have any ideas to expand on this idea?
