Games that should have a sequal or prequal

Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
I swear to gawd that Valve had better be planning on doing this some time this century...
You're thinking too small.. why have HL2:EP3 when you can have HALF-LIFE 3.

Personally I wish that Chromehounds would get a sequel, it was a really amazing game by SEGA that really deserves a second chance in the spotlight, especially with crappy games like Armored Core getting multiple sequels.

Another Halo Wars would be pretty cool to have too.

Also, everyone wanting another Sonic Chronicles, I wish that there could be another one too, but since EA now owns Bioware I'm not sure we will be seeing it. :c
EA just wants a ton of Mass Effects to rape and make bank off of, which is why it completely screwed Microsoft by going multiplatform with the series much like how it is going to have Doom 4 rushed out of iD Software, who they sadly also bought in their industry shopping spree.
I was going to say the exact same thing regarding the Half-Life games. Also, EA isn't as it once used to be. Activision is the crappy one now, I'm pretty sure Bioware is allowed to do what they want, when they want it. Under reasonable timeframes of course and EA just funds them. It's a win-win, they have creative freedom while also having more money.

Games that should have a sequal or prequal
Medievil needs a new sequel. Also, Jersey Devil.

Gran Turismo 5 Info Thread/Discussion Topic
It came out today and I got it!!! Here are my impressions from playing all day:

Pros:

  • It's Gran Turismo. Everything you love about Gran Turismo is here, no compromises to make the game more accessible.
  • The varity of events is outstanding, not just the normal races, but also the licence events and special events.
  • Attention of detail on the premium cars is nothing short of amazing (photo mode, zoomed in on car, saw the numbers on the dials were modelled not just textures)
  • The physics update has improved the game to an untold degree, cars do feel unique be it a heavy NASCAR or the lightweight karts or anything in between. Racing on dirt/snow has been refined now and, as I predicted, racing on a dirt track in GT5 does feel better than WRC 2010.
  • Leveling, combined with licences, means you've always a next logical step with your car or a car than can be acquired cheaply (I predict this will continue as prize money increases as you move up the ladder).
  • Lighting effects are outstanding, especially on the night/wet tracks.
  • Once again, drift mode on Eiger Nordwand has me hooked.
  • There is damage but its locked in the first few levels to help you learn how to drive without worrying about having to pay to repair your car.

Cons:

  • The Standard models aren't bad, but because of how good the premiums are, it's slightly noticable. The lack of cockpit view is somewhat disappointing.
  • B-Spec mode, while I only spent a little time with it, doesn't strike me as particularly interesting.
  • The leveling system leads to inconsistant damage/AI between events.
  • The shadows are pretty bad in places, odd given the lighting.

I think the game looks amazing, although I never was into the Gran Turismo series. Maybe I'll give this one a shot.
Neo Metallix Yesterday, 3:20 PM Holy crap, this game has the best graphics ever.... These are all pictures taken in photo mode. On a side note, it's sad how I'm like the only one on this site interested in this game. We don't have many car/racing fans here it seems but everywhere else it's got a lot of discussion about it.

Basically I don't have PS3. So I'm out of words what else to add about this title. Sure it looks unbelievable, but I can't really come to the conclusion there's any competition now, seeing as GT5 is released over a year after Forza's latest project.
Well that doesn't mean you can't be interested in it. I played Forza 2 and 3 at a friend's house. I mean, I always knew GT5 would be the granddaddy of racing sims but that doesn't detract any from Forza. They're both good games and there are other racing sims that are good too like Ferrari Challenge.

I'm just really excited! GT5 Prologue just is meh, especially compared to the full version. GT5 not only has way more content than Prologue but it also has much improved physics(the most important part of a racing simulator), weather, night/day, damage, course maker, and so many more options to tuning your car.

It's so much improved I don't even see how Prologue can be considered a Prologue!! Plus I bought a very nice steering wheel for this game. Logitech makes the best wheels and while I didn't buy the best I got one that is very good. It has force feedback to simulate how a real wheel would work. I just need a better mounting table for it.

Some more awesome photomode pics(Very Large!):

New Multi-Quote feature!
No, because it's in the templates not the skins. Plus it has nothing to do with permissions so it wouldn't be only admins that can see it. This is weird...

New Multi-Quote feature!
How is it that I see it in both FF and Chrome and no one else does?

New Multi-Quote feature!
This is what I see, are you not seeing this? I'm using the latest version of FF as well.

There is now a check box near the quote button that allows you to quote multiple users at once so you don't have to go back and forth to quote.

Well we have had people who owned the game for awhile now and we have a guy from GTPlanet that is giving us information about the game. I'll post highlights of the review he has done but if you are interested, just know that there is much more to be posted! This game just blows away any other GT game and ups the ante for all racers alike!

  • First, rally is awesome. Period. Will make deeper explorations of the physics tomorrow, but from what I've experienced today, physics in all aspects of the game is nothing but phenomenal. It is difficult to explain, but with every new corner and movement of the car you get the idea you've learned something new. Some tiny bit, some small idea about something, but important and meaningful. During process of golding N-A it was 1997 ll over again, with some familiar licenses in different setting, all up to One Lap Magic finale.
  • My physics impression comes from driving stock RX-7 (N2), stock M3 (S1) and racing Castrol Supra (R1) on dry surfaces. GT5 physics is the most advanced physics any any GT game to date, more complex than Prologue, demanding as Academy TT physics, but much more subtile and profound. Tire-snap is now logical, you can feel the surface, suspension and weight on tires and you can perfectly determine what is going on with the tire-grip. I'm impressed with modeling of suspensions - feel of the road is phenomenal and in every moment you know what your car is doing through the force feedback effect delivered on the wheel.
  • I took a moment to pay attention, but - you just don't see the difference during the race. On my set - and I'm using an 50" plasma - all Standard cars look like a Prologue cars in-race. It is more-less visible in the replay, but overall I think PD did a very decent job in mixing the two breeds.
  • One of the most common questions was one regarding the sounds. GT5 have drastically improved sounds over Prologue in every way. I started a Demo Drive for F430 and it sounds much better than in Prologue, as well as all cars I've driven. Notice that sound changes when driving in cockpit, as I mentioned yesterday best (loudest and clearest) sound is when driving from the roof-cam. However, it is logical to be as that, because the sound of the car from outside and from inside is not the same, as in real life. In the sound department I really love the way in which Doppler effect have been implemented during replays. It shines in surround setting and everybody who got any kind of surround system will enjoy probably the most realistic interpretation of audio-design in virtual racing from "spectator" point of view.

We also have a new commercial for it! :)

NFS Hot Pursuit
I noticed the Burnout feel. I think it keeps the NFS feel with a hint of Burnout. Mainly it's just the crazy speed and drifting that makes it have a Burnout feel, but then again Underground had that same crazy speed in it. I liked what I played of it and I too liked the Cop portion better, but I will have to push this game aside... As soon as I heard Gran Turismo 5 was being released next week this suddenly went on the back burner. Perhaps next year.

Dude. You've gone and taken a joke personally. There is officially nothing anyone can do for you here, unless you suddenly grow a sense of humor, slash get your head out of the bucket of bleach because it's been soaking in there long enough.
It may be a joke but if a person does not like a joke it must stop, even if it doesn't seem like a big deal to anyone else.

Sly 4 coming soon?
Yes it will only be on the PS3 as Sony owns the rights to the franchise. I've beaten Sly 1 and started on Sly 2 in the collection and these are fantastic games that I wish I had never missed out on. Before I didn't want a Sly 4 and would rather have inFAMOUS be their new devoted franchise but now I am excited at the concept of it. You'll probably be able to play it at some point, the PS3 isn't always going to be expensive... At some point in time it'll be $199 or less.

Diablo 3 Release on May 15th
This is not a confirmation although a good indication that it may, at some point, come to PS3/360. Diablo 1 was for PS1 and I'd like to play this game so it coming to consoles is fine with me. :)

Walmart Black Friday Deals!
K-Mart has some good deals, but I thought Wal Mart's was better. Seeing as they have really good deals on consoles. The PS3 and 360 come with two great games for the price of just the console itself! Kmart had good deals on games and accessories, but I don't remember seeing console bundles.

Sly 4 coming soon?
Well this video shows up in the Sly Collection when you get all trophies. It's real but I would be more excited if we knew exactly when it would be out and who was making it. Sucker Punch is spending all of their resources on the inFAMOUS franchise. Perhaps after inFAMOUS 2 they will work on it? Idk, but I do hope that it's not outsourced to another company.

inFAMOUS Movie!
Looks like we'll have a movie based on inFAMOUS summer 2011... I really did not see this coming though, here's the poster.

After an unfortunate delay, which had GT fans wondering if GT5 would ever come out, we now have official confirmation of the release date! It will be released on November the 24th! Not bad as it's still released in the same month and just in time for Black Friday. :D
