How much do you pay for your games?
I only pay $60 for a new game if it's a must have. Most recently was Uncharted 2. Right now, I'm trying to catch up on older games so I spend around $20-40 on a game normally.

MAG
Uh, don't judge the game on a beta. Many things have been updated. As far as the graphics go they are really good considering you have 256 players in one game, more players on screen than most games can hold in an entire match, and Zipper has never been about graphics but pushing the limits on online gaming. Socom was the most popular online game for PS2 and launched console online gaming into the mainstream.

And actually after you achieve rank 60 you can go into a veteran mode(similar to prestige in MW2) that allows you to keep your upgrades but start over and choose another faction if you want.

MAG
As for the gameplay changes they are more subtle, but they are improvements that many wanted changed.

I was thinking of getting it, but it seemed kind of meh when I had the Beta, and seeing footage of it now, it didn't look all that different. But as long as you're enjoying it. ^_^
It is different from the beta. I didn't like the earlier betas, but the final one was much better. The full game has better graphics and many changes as reported in the beta.

Who got MAG? I wasn't really going to get it, but then I decided at the last minute to get it since I saw the good reviews it had gotten and since I discovered I had enough money for it and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I'm glad I got it, because it's fun. It's not like COD where you're a one man army, this game requires teamwork and if you don't use teamwork, your team will lose. Plus with so many players in one game, there's always action somewhere.

What do you all think of MODS
The only console game that I know of that supports mods is Unreal Tournament 3 of PS3, the 360 version does not support it. Am I missing any others? I remember seeing a UT3 mod that made it a 2.5D sidescroller and it looked pretty cool.

Ah, this game along with Ratchet & Clank are the reasons why I picked up a PS3. I love Killzone 2, 3rd favorite game of 09 behind Uncharted 2 and Borderlands respectively. The campaign was fun as hell, the story wasn't that interesting but actually playing it was fun. Multiplayer was even better, probably the best multiplayer fps I've ever played outside of TF2. I love the class based system (which is why I love TF2) the guns all have a unique look and feel to them. I played KZ2 for about 2 months straight. I still play it, just nowhere close as often nowadays. I've been too distracted by Uncharted 2 and PC gaming (omg Stalker) lately.

I have all of the maps. Bought the big pack that had all 3 map packs in one. Great deal. The dlc maps are kickass. They're all better then the original maps we got. As for my actual skill level at the game, I would say I'm about decent. I usually come in at least the top 10 or 5 with a passable k/d >_>. My lifetime k/d isn't that great :/. I've had some moments though, 17 kill streak with a shotgun in Salamun Market was probably my best. I never found a gun I can really stick to using though. I probably use EVERY gun about evenly except for the pistol, I got a revolver :D.

I'm open for some KZ2 multiplayer if you guys are interested. Anyone have a mic?
I have a mic, but I really never use it. lol I just don't feel like talking to people I don't know. I'd say I'm decent at multiplayer, but not above average. I just play for fun in online games though, not for competition so k/d ratio and having to have great stats do not interest me.

I'd be down, but it'd have to be a time when we all feel like it and have time. Also, do you guys know how you get to revive fallen comrades? I'm thinking it has to do with rank, but I'm not sure which rank gets you there.

I'm sick of being cyberbullied at this forum
Just report it. ;) We'll take care of any personal attacks.

I have to agree that KZ2 was one of the best shooters I've ever played. My brother refused to play it at first, but once I convinced him to, he played for 3 straight days. XD I liked the cover system, but it was kind of annoying that there was no toggle. You spend virtually the whole game holding L2 (more so on the higher difficulties). Speaking of which, I still haven't beaten Elite difficulty. XD I love how smart the AI can be. Every time I get killed, I can't help but think 'Agh! Smart little buggers!'

The multiplayer is really fun too. Except there's an extreme lack of ranks. I was a General in 4 days. XD That, and I'm amazing at KZ2 (Sonic Paradise can vouch for me on that. XD ) Other than that, if you can find a big, fair game with fair players, it can get really intense. Definitely a game that all FPS fans should experience at least once.
Why did your brother not want to play it? Afraid? lol Yeah you did have to hold L2 the whole time, but that didn't really annoy me. Glad zoom had toggle though. Dude... Elite has got to be insane, I've only tried it on Hard which I got most of the way through. I beat it on medium which is fairly easy 99% of the game, it's just that %$#*ing last level!! It's like the difficulty shoots up 10 notches!! Radec and his minions are just really hard, especially when they get those rocket launchers. Ugh.

Have you bought any of the map packs? I've just recently tried playing more online to get my rank up. It's going pretty quickly. Maybe we should play sometime? ;)

Ever think Sonic Team has caused its own bad ratings?

Personally I love every game Sega has created. From the Sonic series to Billy Hatcher to (dare I say it) Bayonetta. In my eyes (and in some fans eyes), as a company they are doing great. I personally loved the Werehog. It was a little bit of a change of pace. But that change made it all the more reason to play (Plus Unleashed final boss{on 360 and ps3} is a real pain. I still have trouble beating it) i enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog because it was different and it kept one of my favorite characters alive. '06 is not all that bad (IMO). I rather liked the game aside from the many problems with it. And canon wise '06 never really happened due to the ending. I have given up on the reviews. They are worthless and untrue. GI gave darksiders a bad rep just because of the similarities it shares with other games. And that's all I have to say on the subject.
Sega did not create Bayonetta, they only published it. Anyway I don't think it's marketing and hype that ruined its reviews. Look at GTA4, that was the worst in the series and it got rated almost higher than any other game!

What the hell is this? Did you forget the point of this thread? It's NOT for just pure spam.
Actually, thanks to spam like this, conversations are started, like so.*looks at the above post* So it serves a point, believe it or not.
Don't give me that bull. This thread needs accountability and there was absolutely no discussion created by that post. Gah, I hate this thread. I shouldn't involve myself in this cancer. Over and out!

Wow....you serious? O_o
Yes. Not the highest it has ever been though, I remember one year we had 15 feet of snow. It's like a towering wall of snow on both sides of the roads. :D

I am not sure if anyone has offered this before, but why not have a chatbox or something on the top or bottom of the forums? I think that would be fun. Just a little quick suggestion. It could be like a really fast forum chat that doesn't involve topics and PMs. Just something fun!

What do you guys think?
The shack sucks, but apparently people want it because they can't do without their precious spam. :| I mean, cboxes are spam too, but at least you don't put pointless pictures/videos in one post with no actual discussion in it.

My friend just got this game, it looks great. I'll probably get this and Yakuza 3, which is said to be a Japanese GTA/the new Shenmue.
How how? Is that even possible. Release date isn't until April 27th in USA I think. So what on earth have he done to get this so early, if it's even the same title.

I mean, there's that old title Red Dead. Care to tell me a few secrets that friend of yours have. XD
Oh, I was reading your post about Red Dead Revolver and forgot to clarify/quote that part.

A look back at 2009: Killzone 2.
Here I will reflect on Killzone 2. Killzone 2 was clearly one of the best Shooters in 2009 and many would argue the best, which makes it a disappointment that it got snubbed just because it released early in the year. This always happens, a great game released in the beginning of the year gets forgotten in the hype of games at the end of the year.

Now there are rumors that Killzone 3 news will come out next month. While I don't doubt that, I do doubt a 2010 release date. Simply because Resistance 3 is due out this Fall and Sony pushed back KZ2 to not cannibalize sells from Resistance 2. I would expect Killzone 3 to release around February 2011 which puts it inline with the two year dev cycle that many games are put in now days. Just imagine how much of a leap in graphics it will have. Anyway, that's another topic.

Back to Killzone 2. I had a blast with it and the innovative first person cover system was really fun, it was better than just squatting behind a box like in other FPS games for cover. There was so much action in this game and the graphics are still unsurpassed by any FPS aside from Crysis on PC. The animations are also top notch, killing Helghast does not yield the same boring death animations all the time. When you shoot them, they react realistically to how they got shot and this is due to a lot of the animations being motion captured by actors in a studio instead of just scripted. The A.I. is better than any of the FPS games I've played, they aren't stupid.

I think the Online play is very fun as well, but I am not much into online(because of sore losers and jerks) so I didn't get into it much. The game is not without its flaws, I think there are some things that could be improved. It really could use split-screen multiplayer and/or co-op campaign. While I'm not one to complain about a game just being single player, lets face it those are pretty much standard in shooters now. Plus the story wasn't the best, I'd say it was pretty average as far as stories go. Both of which are something I'm sure they'll add/change in Killzone 3.

Here are a list of the awards it has won, but what do you have to say about Killzone 2? I know a few of you have played it here, so what are your reflections on the game? Maybe you haven't played it but just read about it? Go ahead and discuss it here.

Killzone 2 awards:

- Game of the Year from Gamereactor.
- Best PS3 Shooter from IGN.
- Best Competitive Muliplayer from GameSpot.
- Best Sound Design from GameSpot.
- Most Improved Sequel from GameSpot.
- Best Shooter from GameSpot.
- Best Graphics from G-Phoria 2009 Awards.

I have never found this forum to be difficult to navigate, even back when I first joined and didn't know where anything was I never found it difficult, Even my friend Gardivoir who is still relatively new to the Internet (let alone forum's) does not find it difficult to navigate, I think the changes your proposing are unnesseary.
I agree. First of all, subforums suck and die because they go unnoticed. I have tried to move all of the main categories onto the front page. The fan character shrine was going dead so I moved it to the front.

Combining the Station Square and entertainment cafe is a good idea in theory, but what happens when some want to talk about entertainment and it's flooded by off-topic posts/vice versa?

How is it hard to navigate when you know where to talk anyway and there are very detailed descriptions on the categories to read if you are clueless. Not to mention if you are just completely unsure, you may ask on this forum.

Heavy Rain Walkthrough: What's your take?
Well the first review is in. 9/10. Here's an interview as to why he believes it's 9/10. It's from OPM, but OPM doesn't just rate PS3 exclusives high because they are exclusive. They have given PS3 exclusives low scores and are generally harder on them than regular publications.
