Rain in Space
Rain in space
A man glances at the gathering clouds above
He had just lost a love
Suddenly, she was gone like mist
Only leaving a small list
He had been dreaming
Thinking about the love of his life
He could hardly believe he was still breathing
Feeling he could almost reach out and touch his wife
The rain pours, dumping buckets on a bystander
Making the man feel blander
He feels a tear escape his eye
He turns and leaves with a sigh
The rain continues, flooding the Earth
The rain drips out of the atmosphere
No one seems to notice its worth
The water settles in space for another year
Another year, it continues to rain in space

The End
The roar of factories
The hum of trucks
The crunch of trash
The cry of a baby
Oil scents the streets
The smell of smoke in the air
Sea breeze receding from the beaches
Fragrance of ashes in the wind
Towers crumbling
Fathers bleeding
Houses exploding
Volcanoes erupting
This is the end of the world.
And the end is near
Dec 22
Death appears
On a sidewalk sits a girl
Her hair in a red curl
She cries and weeps
Just as the rain water seeps
She stares at the street ahead
Wondering how long she bled
Thinking about her deceased father
Trying hard not to be a bother
Strangers stop and stare
She has absolutely no care
She wanted to become a dancer
Until she found out her father had cancer

Colorblind
A man serves my friend a smoothie
The man turns to me and frowns
"Sorry, I don't serve black people." He says
Then continues down the counter.
I stare at him, flabbergasted
I'm not black and he's not white
Neither of us are what's in a crayola box
but even crayons get along better
Blind people have an advantage
So do dogs
They don't see the colors that people claim we are
They see you for who you are, not what's covering you
We should all be a little colorblind.
Nov 17
Friday the 13th
A boy steps on a crack
Crawls under ladders
Passes black cats
and breaks mirrors
He pushes kids into walls
speaks out loud during class
never raises his hand
always sits alone at lunch
This boy hates everyone around him
He only hates because he is the hated
He feels he is the nightmare
He fears that all he thinks will come true
This boy is not undisciplined
This boy is not a trouble maker
This boy is not retarded or mentally challenged
This is only a person with feelings;someone misunderstood

Desperate.
Music.
Is it really a pastime?
Do we really enjoy it because of it's it beat?
Or do we listen because it's someone else's problem and not yours?
Are we that desperate to escape reality?
Books.
Do we enjoy the genres?
Is it really for entertainment?
Or are we looking for something to ease our pain struck heart?
Are we that desperate to escape reality?
Love.
So many times it's said.
So many times you think they're the one.
So many times your heart is broken.
I am desperate to escape reality.
For one reason, and one reason only,
you broke my heart.
