So, exams.
You know those things. Those looming dooming glooming terribad things that await your presence? No, I'm not talking about rapists, I'm talking about exams. Usually they're work a good chunk of your mark, for myself it's 30%. They can be stress inducing, especially when they're rarely talked about and suddenly they start in a week. Eep.
The fortunate thing is, exemptions exist. Well, sometimes they do. They can exists in many forms, such as "You can exempt an exam if your mark is over X in that class." or "You can choose 1 exam to exempt if you have missed less than Y classes in the semester." If exemptions didn't exist I'd probably be a very sad child/teenager/person thing.
In my area English 11 and Math 11 can't be exempted because they lead up to the dreaded grade 12 Provincials. Even though a ton of advanced students (such as yours truly) take the Math Provincial a year early. I heard it's brutal, because it's on just about everything ever. However, Pre-Calculus and Calculus can be exempted for some reason. Probably because they're immensely difficult or something.
So, blog readers, I ask you. Whats your take on exams? Awesome mark booster? Hideous thing that must be loathed? Or something in between?
