Sonic Free Riders Rant.
Well let's face it; Sonic nowadays is looking up, His games look great, they look promising, and they shine a new light of better games for the Blue Hedgehog we know and love.
So when I heard of a new Sonic Riders game, I was excited. I played the first two to death ( beating all the missions S rank'd on both) before so I saw no problem getting a third Riders game...until I found out the truth
Alright; now don't get me wrong, I've been a fan of the series since I was young; I've been through some harsh cases of the series ( 06', SHtH, etc.). But of all things, Why Motion Control?
We've all seen Motion Control in the past, it usually has been clunky, (Eyetoy) unresponsive (Eyetoy!), and down right pointless to use(EYETOY!)...Of course that changed with the Nintendo Wii.
So yea I think you got a good idea of what I am whining about: Motion Control. I don't think the whole idea of acting like a moron just to beat the game is something I would want to do, I want to play a game, if I wanted to swivel around thinking "zomg awesome" I would just do that, not play a game.
Now don't assume I am hating Sonic Riders 3, I love the idea, it's just I don't want to shell out another *insert price here* just to flail my arms around; and it's not just "Baw Motion Controls" think about it: How will 4 players play together on one screen like that? surely someone will get injured in the process.
So bottom line (TL;DR)
1. Motion Controls, Do not want
2. Contrary to #1, It's not just hating it, The impossibility of 4 flailing people on screen will probably make multiplayer slightly harder to actually play...
3. I will admit, Seeing Metal Sonic is awesome. just a shame however that I have to pass the chance because Sega want's to use a gimmick control scheme and not give other players a alternative control scheme...
Oh, then again, SFR is not even released to begin with so me ranting is all for naught in the end.![]()
